WHAT DO WOMEN REALLY WANT, TO BE LOVED OR TO BE UNDERSTOOD?
Sometime ago, a woman friend of mine posted on facebook, saying that women just need to be loved and not understood and I took it has the truth.
But not too long ago, I was chatting with another woman about this topic and she said that a woman needs to be understood.
So, am quite confused here now, "what do women really want from a man?"
I am of the view that women need to be understood and loved, because personally I think that there are ways women act, that I don't quite understand why they act that way and so I need to understand them, to be able to get along with them.
I think a woman can only be treated well by a man if she is understood.
Anyway, What are your thoughts?
Individual psychology can be all over the place. But if we approach this from a high altitude vantage point and look at what women want from men as the female members of our species, then the answer is "loved" because love translates into commitment. Without the father in her life a woman will face considerable difficulty in raising her children. This is true even in rich countries with generous benefits because the very benefits are to a large degree the fruits of the labour of men collectively. Women need, collectively and/or individually, men to be concerned about their well-being.
When it comes to understanding someone that is merely having an accurate and adequate knowledge of what makes them tick. That knowledge can be used to their advantage as well as to their detriment. And if by "understanding" you mean expressions of empathic insight into their situation, then I would classify that as a form of love, too.
I think it is all aspects to understand, even when they get angry at something. Thanks for your contribution @markkujantunen. It is becoming clearer to me now.
