If you haven't heard the election is on for a WorkGroup to look into setting up a foundation. The details are on the SteemAlliance Server.
There are a couple of hours left to vote if you haven't heard about it, all the information is on the discord server.

Steem Alliance Voting has Started
This post is to inform the public that the new working group election is under way. Voting closes at 2am EST // 7am UTC January 28th, 2019.

To be able to see the voting page you must register with ginabot.
Once you have registered with ginabot you will be able to see #candidates-wg-voting-booth

To vote join the #candidates-wg-voting-booth room.
Then simply click the emoji under the candidates name.
You may vote for as many candidates as you'd like.

Election Results Determination
The highest 11 voted members will become the New Working Group. If there is a tie for 11th place members of the current working group will resolve the tie (current members who are running for the new working group will not be able to cast votes in the 11th spot tie breaker).
Election Results Announcement
The election results will be released shortly after a final tally has been made and the working group can certify them.
Working group 1 to be dissolved
After the election has been certified the ad-hoc working group is dissolved.

The voting system was a 100% fail for me. A high school computer science club might have come up with a less convoluted voting process for non-discord users. Steemit is not steem and niether is discord.
Yeah, we do need to figure out how to do consensus voting on our consensus blockchain! ;)
@whatsup ginabot? discord? Why couldnt we just have had a list of candidates on dpoll?
How can we ever expect to get more users when everything is so complicated?
there were things we couldn't do with dpoll yet. and this was only for a planning/working group not the foundation it's self.
Everyone is aware it needs to be better next time.
The goal was to get community input on the working group. We did that. Before it comes to a full elections somethings should improve.

I declined a nomination to the 2nd workgroup, but I do wish them success! As having a second development organization would be beneficial in my view.
I will look more into these candidates to know more what they are able to do and add value onto the steemalliance workgroup before deciding on whom to vote for
time is running out!
Hi @whatsup. I voted but to be honest didn't know half of the people. The candidates hadn't loaded their profiles when I went looking and it wasn't overly great. I feel it was too rushed and wished better candidates had cone forward.
I think it is important to know they are just a work group to work with ned and the community to select the type of foundation to set up.
Frankly, I think Ned would have been better off to create the foundation in private and then hand it over to the community, but everyone loves to second guess.
It was done quickly as the roles just really didn't seem that important. It is a short work group that will be dissolved.
For some reason I can't join the group. Can you send me a dm with the link on discord maybe? I tried all the things but the Discord group won't show up.
I guess I missed out on it! Needed some downtime with the family after a business trip but I trust the community does a great job in getting the right people willing to do the job!
