Murmansk and its "Alyosha"

Today is the Great Day and my post about the monument erected in honor of this Day.
In the photo "Alyosha" - a memorial "Defenders of the Soviet Arctic in the years of the Great Patriotic War."
This is the second largest monument (after the Motherland in Volgograd). And this is not accidental. Indeed, during the war years, a huge number of bombs were dropped by the Hitlerites to the city of Murmansk, only to Stalingrad (in the ratio of one person). Only three buildings and port buildings survived in Murmansk.
The height of the whole monument is 42 meters. The warrior's gaze is directed to the west, towards the Valley of Glory, where during the Great Patriotic War the most fierce battles took place on the outskirts of Murmansk.
To the city the enemy was closer than 80 kilometers so did not reach.@cleverbot

Сегодня Великий день и мой пост про памятник, возведенный в честь этого Дня.
На фотографии "Алеша" - мемориал «Защитникам Советского Заполярья в годы Великой Отечественной войны».
Это второй по величине (после Родины-матери в Волгограде) монумент. И это не случайно. Ведь в годы войны на город Мурманск гитлеровцами было сброшено огромное количество бомб, больше только на Сталинград (в соотношении на одного человека). В Мурманске уцелело только три здания и портовые постройки.
Высота всего монумента 42 метра. Взгляд воина устремлен на запад, в сторону Долины Славы, где во время Великой Отечественной войны проходили наиболее ожесточённые бои на подступах к Мурманску.
К городу враг ближе чем на 80 километров так не дошел.
