Less than 3 months ago (11 Dec, 2017), someone wrote, "Knew it was in India just by reading the title..."

The title was: 14yo blood cancer patient gang-raped by 3 men, including passerby who offered to help

With a heavy heart one gets to read another headline in February, 2018: Woman is gang-raped and sexually abused with iron rods until her intestines spill out in latest horrific Indian sex attack. This latest incident of 2018 sounds like an imitation of Nirbhaya Rape Case, 2012.

Remember the American survival drama "Life of Pi"? Nirbhaya and her friend were returning home from the south Delhi theatre on the cold and dark night of December 16, 2012 after watching the movie. Nirbhaya's friend was knocked down with an iron rod in the bus. Then one of the attackers inserted a rusted, L-shaped rod - used with a wheel jack - into Nirbhaya's private parts, pulling and ripping her intestines apart. 95 per cent of her intestines were pulled out of her body. The brutal attack happened on a running bus.

On Feb. 23, 2016, a woman, within hours of giving birth by C-section, was raped in a hospital near New Delhi. They took consolation in the fact that at least her intestines were not pulled out like Nirbhaya.

A few days later, on March 8, 2016, on Women’s Day, a 15-year-old girl was raped and set on fire.

In China, the surplus of males doesn't seem to lead to a rape crisis. Research has found that the Bare Branches—males with no chance of finding a female companion—behave gently around women.

Why such disparity between China and India? Indian caste system and their many gods seem to have engendered rape and violence against women.

The Hindu god Vishnu raped Tulsi/Vrinda by assuming the guise of her husband:

Then there is Brihaspati, the guru of all Indian gods, who raped his own pregnant sister-in-law, Mamata. According to Matsya Purana 49.17-28:

In normal societies people shun bigots and rapists. But no god in India was ever demoted for raping a women. Their mythology conditions people to attach zero consequence to rape and violence against women. The religious scriptures have total and complete disrespect for women:

The militant Hindutva ideology places a lot of emphasis on such mythological stories at whose core lie lurid tales of sex that glorify rape. Unsurprisingly, young Dalit girls (lower caste people who were once considered “untouchable” and “dirty”) are raped on a daily basis.
