Important and sad News

in #busy5 years ago (edited)

It seems that not everybody consider everything that is being done in this blockchain is enough to demonstrate its value.

A few hours ago Poloniex announced the permanent de-listing of Steem.

Apparently this will be effective on October 15 with what I recommend to anyone who has Steem in that exchange to withdraw it as soon as possible.

There are about 10000000 Steem stored in Poloniex, according to data from @penguinpablo, that represents approximately 10% of all liquid Steem in exchanges.

This is a sad day for our Blockchain.

Let's see how we recover from this "blow".

I bet 4 million STEEM will be lost forever, which will contribute to future appreciation in price.

That's a good point of view, it is like a Steem "sink" LOL

That's sad. Steem is still not picking up high volumes like other coins, that is propably the reason they decided to delist it.
I think (and hope) they will regret it in the future though.

Wondering here if I should start a power down. There will be huge selling pressure coming soon if Steemit Inc starts to dump STEEM again with this combined.

I do think that some of that steem will be burned. Some people will forget to withdraw it!
But regardless of that, this is not the news we are hoping for. Looks like #newsteem isn't so great after all!
Cheers,
Peter

People are blind by this newsteem...

Also the bear market is not helping at all here but, what is weird here is that from the 6 altcoins listed to be delisted :-), only steem is a top100 altcoin...
If I would be the owner of an exchange the last altcoin to be chosen in order to be delisted would be any of the top100...

They won't burn them. They will dump the remaining STEEM on other exchanges like what Openledger did.

Mhh, never tought about that possibility!

Hey @techcoderx, here is a little bit of BEER for you. Enjoy it!

Yup. Newsteem will tank Steem completely.

Bad news, but maybe it says more about Poloniex than about Steem. They had difficulty running wallets different from Bitcoin. Steem and Siacoin have been in maintenance for long periods. They also lost volume, so they had to cut back somewhere.

Hopefully. I also think that Poloniex is one of the worst exchanges.

That sucks but who uses Poloniex nowadays?

People mostly use Binance and Bittrex right?

Still a bad news.

This post has been included in the latest edition of The Steem News - a compilation of the key news stories on the Steem blockchain.

We dont need Poloniex its a shit exchange.
Still i am bullish on Steem.
