Oh my God!", Debby screamed as water from the puddle in front of her splashed all over her.

The black Corolla came to a halt and a young man alighted from the car and ran towards her.

"I'm so sorry" he started "I didn't mean for that to happen".

"It's alright", Debby managed to say, trying to clean the mud water away from her dress though she knew it was quite hopeless.

"I'm so sorry.", he said awkwardly as she looked up at him for the first time.

She was beautiful. Brown hair curling down her back, and a few strands lying on her forehead, forming what seemed a little like a fringe. Her eyes were perhaps the most alluring of her features. Almond-shaped with her with light brown pupils that kept him wondering whether or not that was her real eye color or she was wearing contacts. Her eyebrows formed a bushy arch over both eyes and her lashes were quite long he found it hard to believe they were natural. Her nose stood like a bridge across both eyes, looking perfect. Her lips were nude pink and equally alluring. He repelled to urge to let his eyes stray any further on her body but he did not fail to notice her perfect figure.

"Hem hem", she coughed lightly, breaking the awkward silence between them.

He jerked a bit and then combed his hair backward with his hands.

"Let me give you a ride, it's the least I could do", he said

"You don't have to. Besides, our paths are probably different",

"I wasn't really going anywhere.", he mumbled, "Where are you heading to though?"

"Ashi Bodija"

"Dope!" He almost yelped "I live at Akobo. I could drop you off at Adabol"

"That's perfect," she said reluctantly.

He led her slowly to his car, resisting the urge to wrap his arms around her shoulder. She twitched as he opened the car door and let her get in before shutting it. She couldn't help but notice his muscular build. He was probably Eastern, she thought to herself. They were the muscular ones. But his handsome face made her feel he was probably a Yoruba demon. He was one of the few boys in this age and time who wasn't keeping a beard. Everyone did it, whether or not it made them look like men or beasts. They just wanted to follow the trend, the beard gang, they called it. But there was a clean shaved guy, looking good.

"I'm Dozie, you?", he said as he started the car.

_ So, he was Eastern_

"Deborah", she replied, almost in a whisper "Call me Debby"

She seemed shy.

"I'm so sorry about the other time", Dozie said, his eyes on the road.

His face was still handsome even with a frown

"It's okay. Dropping me off is so nice of you. You've made up already"

I think I like this girl already

"That's nice", he smiled.
