Amazing Adjustments that has Happened in my Life Since I Found Steemit
Joining Steemit is the best decision I made in the year 2017. I 'm thankful that I discovered it at a time when I was broke. Perhaps if everything was okay with me, I would have overlooked it. It takes faith, patience, persistence and people to make it big here if you are not a tech guru, or a digital marketer or social media influencer. It also takes an insane amount of research to try to understand or fully grasp the essence of this platform.
To me, Steemit is a beacon of hope. I’ve accomplished a lot of great things here. I didn’t know it was going to be this fantastic. I’ve made some serious cash, I’ve created some really good relationships and I take Steemit very personally. There are a lot of wonderful adjustments that has happened to me since I joined Steemit.
In the following headings, I'll be answering some of the questions that @surpassinggoogle asked in his untalented-adjustments post. With these questions and answers, I want to share with you the amazing adjustments that have happened to my life since I joined Steemit.
What are the New Things I have Learned Since I Joined Steemit?
One of the things I've learned since I joined Steemit is that cryptocurrency is real. It’s not just a buy-low-sell-high-and-dump-it-on-the-greater-fools-greed-parade. I knew about cryptocurrencies quite early but I thought it was just another Ponzi scheme. I took some online course at nexxus university yet I didn't really believe it. Being in Steemit and interacting with all these wonderful people have shown me the power of the blockchain. Whenever everyday folks tell me that they want to learn about blockchain, I usually direct them to Steemit. I once told a friend that the bests way to learn about blockchain technology is to actually use it. Steemit is proof that blockchain works. It’s a showoff! Proof of work! Lol…
I've learned how to use markdown. I’ve learned a lot of technical stuff. Just being here and interacting with all these tech gurus, you pick up a thing or two.
I’ve learned how to interact with people at work as a team. Being a member of @stach and collaborating with other people to do promotional activities has greatly helped me.
I've learned that people are inherently good. This is hardly true in the "real" world where everyone is out to rip you off. But the system is to blame. The system incentivizes corruption and honesty is nothing but self-sacrifice. If only there was a place where I could be rewarded for being good. A place where the role models, the people who get rewarded the most are the hardest workers, the creators of value. Utopia!

Have I Grown More Since my Last Errors?
When I started blogging in Steemit, I made all the possible mistakes you can think of. That’s the reason why I usually have so much empathy for newbies. I know how it feels to be ignored. I know how it feels to use a shitty thumbnail, I know how it feels to suck and feel not good enough.
I used to do a series on how to win friends and influence people. The first thumbnail that I used was a total disaster. I wish I can go back and change it. It’s in the blockchain now, it can’t be changed. But I improved. I consulted a graphic designer and got a few tips. You don’t really need to be a super designer to get really good thumbnails.
One of the reasons I love Steemit is that the community is one that is very accommodating and one that encourages growth. People tend to flourish and grow well in an atmosphere of love than in a critical atmosphere.
Do I Still Eat Myself So Much Over my Flaws or Do I Put Even my Flaws to Good Use?
There are times when after making a post, I would sit for hours thinking it everyone would like it or if my I wrote the right thing.
I use to judge myself too much. I set unrealistically high standards and I'm usually very hard on myself. I use to compare myself to everyone else. Oh boy! I was a mess.Somewhere along the line, I learned that mistakes are good. They are part of our design. We are not perfect beings. We are supposed to make mistakes. It's part of the process. When I realized this, I started to go easy on myself and cut me some slack. I believe that everything I have is a gift, even my flaws. I strive to be better but I don’t eat myself so much anymore.
Am I Now more Selfless, More Empathetic, More Patient etc
I'm more selfless and more empathetic but I don't know about patience. My time is very precious to me these days. I have no room to tolerate sluggishness. I have a very low threshold for time wasters because the Steem blockchain puts a very high price tag on my time. There is so much to learn and so much to do. Sometimes when I’m outside I just want to finish what I’m doing quickly and get back to my computer. It's quite normal these days for me to take the quickest route when transporting even when it would cost me more because I know that my time is more valuable.
Steemit is a gifting economy. In order to survive here, you have to be a giver. I learned this quite early. Giving is something I do quite naturally and I’ve improved on that. I have more to give now.
Do I Still Measure People by their Wallets?
Lol...
This particular question made me laugh.
This is a very tricky question. I do measure people by their wallets. Let me rephrase it properly. I measure a person's faith in Steem or their contribution to the blockchain or the length of their stay in Steemit by their wallet. I guess that's the purpose of the Steem wallet. It gives one esteem. I do not measure the value of people by the size of their wallets. They are some people like @shello, @thelovejunkie, @adejoke16 and @nairadaddy that I respect and it's not because of their wallet size but because of who they are.
Did my Wealth Improve?
Yeah!
In one blog post, I made almost double of what I used to earn per year as a teacher. My wealth has significantly improved. What is very fantastic is the future that I see ahead. The future is so bright. I’ve acquired some wealth here and the process of acquiring this wealth has made me a better person. I have acquired skills and I'm grateful for that.
This is my entry to @surpassinggoogle's #untalented-adjustments contest.
Thank you for reading.
Happy New Year!

@dray91eu
Thank you for reading
Wow I never knew you were a teacher. Talking about time, now I know time is money because personally I don't have time for things that are not beneficial. I must also add that mistakes are lessons that help us later in life. If you make a mistake once and fail you learn from the mistake and when treading that part you won't make the same mistake again. Mistake builds us up. Nice adjustments 👊
Thanks bro
Hope to be seeing more of your post though when you were in uyo we didn't talk. I even texted you on whatsapp no response. Happy New year

i've been active for just 2 weeks here and this was exactly the first thing i learnt
it's so amazing how a community really exists where giving is like the standard of living, and this is one of the major reasons I LOVE Steemit!!
Steemit has really impacted on my life for good too and i'm grateful for that
Nice adjustments on your end, i have mine too
Nice to meet you bro
You re going to enjoy your stay here
I doff my cap sir.. U are one of my mentors on this platform. Ever since i heard you speak at the Ife steemup program, i have been motivated. I love your sincerity in this post. Some might say they love writing and that was what kept them going but i liked your first statement where you said "you were broke when you started and that was what kept you going at first" but now its so obvious you have grown beyond that mindset. Its a great pleasure to have you on this platform and also am so elated getting to write in a bonus contest that you are also involved in
Lol
Come for the money
Stay for the community
Lolz... Exactly ooo.. I feel you boss
Boss of life...... this is dope.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
When I was reading through these lines, I was like...... you too? So you too made some mistakes. Because am going through it at the moment but every day is a learning day for me on Steemit. Nobody is perfect anyways.
Gold went through fire before coming out polished.
Earlier today I was searching for the group invite you sent out when you were planning Ibadan Meetup on my whatsapp but I couldn't find it. With that invite I got to know about steemit. Whatever I learn, whatever I do, whatever I earn on this platform I cannot forget you @tojukaka the person through which I Joined Steemit. I cannot write you off my history even though am yet to meet you in person.
Thank you for all you do .
