So is Maya Forstater correct?
I actually don't agree with her point. Because the argument is based on how advanced gender reassignment procedures currently are. I always make it a point to never say never when it comes to advancements in science and technology. So what I am saying is that while she may be correct right now, she probably wont be in 5-10 years. So why bother to make this point now?

We should all be on the same page that this is inevitable... I think it is anyway.

Not only will it technically be possible to reassign gender but eventually we will probably be going in the direction of being anything we want to be. At this point most identity politics will become completely redundant.

  • Human cloning and genetic engineering will be a thing.
  • Real life cat girls will be a thing.
  • Furries that do not need a fur suit will be a thing.
  • Artificial wombs will be a thing.

In an environment like this transforming ones self from gender to gender is easily possible. Even with the ability for full procreation capabilities. Yeah, I am out right saying that in a matter of decades, its entirely possible for someone who was born as a male to give birth. It will utilize different methods sure. It may be extremely different than we may be expecting.

But its going to happen.

So yeah, I guess I agree that some people are pretty delusional right now regarding the topic. Its pretty annoying to see people who exploit the concept for personal gain in very odd ways.

In this day and age there are huge benefits to changing your gender outside of gender dysphoria. You can use it as a tool to brand yourself and gain attention you normally would never have gotten. Its actually very common right now in the virtual reality scene. Female avatars are extremely common while the player base is predominantly male.

One of the main criticisms I have had regarding the movie Ready Player One is that they didn't really understand the dynamic of how common it would be for people to play as female avatars. While they touched on the topic they really missed the mark by about 75%... lol

Ultimately this stuff is going to become a giant joke. People with cyborg robot bodies that can switch into any form they want is going to kinda make the entire discussion pointless. Genetic engineering can and probably will some day have people customizing their organic bodies into literally anything.

At that point its really more about not giving a shit.

Anything goes.

I think J.K. Rowling chose a pretty pointless hill to die on. But whatever. Maybe she will stop virtue signalling now.

Sort:

I love how you turn transgender rights into a sci-fi fantasy, it's pretty on-point for missing the mark completely. This lady was openly harassing co-workers, hence the issue with defending her. Pretending tweets are the maximum extent of her bigotry is not reading into the situation at all.

When you have a radical ideology based on fear and hatred, and utilize that to belittle and offend others for the sake of doing so, there is no need to have you in the workplace. I would not want to go to work with someone who hates jewish people, or black people, and if I had a say in that situation, I would say GTFO.

You need to start being more realistic and materialistic with your posts here, because while sci-fi adventures are fun, they won't be happening for a while. Focus on the people being killed for their identities right now, especially when that's the subject matter you're bouncing off of.

I love how you turn transgender rights into a sci-fi fantasy,

Literally everything is a sci-fi fantasy right now.

Also you are an awful person. :/

I'm an awful person because I defend peoples' rights? How do you spin this one?

People are literally being murdered for their identities, and pointing it out makes me awful? Please, do go on.

I'm an awful person because I defend peoples' rights?

You just said the future of LGBT community is a sci-fi fantasy. :/
Then you began virtue signalling so you can make this about you and how amazing you are.

You just said the future of LGBT community is a sci-fi fantasy. :/

Huh? The future of the LGBT community is with death unless we act now to protect ourselves against people like the ones you promoted in the header.

Then you began virtue signalling so you can make this about you and how amazing you are.

Mentioning protecting communities that are dying RIGHT NOW is about me? Well, indirectly, sure. But you're taking a case about someone hurting people, and spinning into sci-fi nonsense, when there are literally people dying RIGHT NOW. If you want to blog about sci-fi stuff, do that without springboarding off of violence against minorities.

Miss me with this bigoted garbage, bud. Nice try at a spin, though.

Huh? The future of the LGBT community is with death unless we act now to protect ourselves against people like the ones you promoted in the header.

Not true

Mentioning protecting communities that are dying RIGHT NOW is about me?

Yes you came in talking about the only chance there is for things to work out and you said its a fantasy. Then you started talking about how we need to promote ineffective strategies that will further erode the movement.

Very regressive.

Not true

What isn't true? English please.

Yes you came in talking about the only chance there is for things to work out and you said its a fantasy. Then you started talking about how we need to promote ineffective strategies that will further erode the movement.

What? How does making sure people aren't MURDERED an "ineffective strategy"? Do you know what these words mean? Leveraging the deaths of transgender people to spin me into being a villain is honestly disgusting and I'm kind of shocked that you're actually trying to go through with this.

We cannot wait 40 years to start protecting trans people. We need to help NOW

What isn't true? English please.

Its growing more and more prevalent every year. And technology is the catalyst.

We cannot wait 40 years to start protecting trans people. We need to help NOW

Ok so here is a quote from what I said above.

I always make it a point to never say never when it comes to advancements in science and technology. So what I am saying is that while she may be correct right now, she probably wont be in 5-10 years. So why bother to make this point now?

So why make the argument now?

Here ill translate for you, if this how we know things are going to be in the future, then why bother to make the argument now. Its inevitable.
So based on that we can make a sound argument that its at least technically wrong to make the argument now. This protects trans people NOW using a salient argument.

Also you are super bad. :/
