Is Cryptocurrency Part of the Move Towards A Type 1 Civilization?
It is incredible to see the merging of science and spirituality. A great deal of what the "ancients" discussed is appearing in similar forms on some of the science pages. We hear scientists referring to consciousness and emotional power.
One of the interesting ideas was posed by a Soviet astrophysicist Nokolai Kardashev in which he described what he termed civilizations. The basis of this theory is that progress is determined by the amount of energy that is used. This is the true measure of progress.
There were three basic civilizations he talked about. In a Type 1 Civilization, all the energy is harnessed by from the home planet. Type 2 Civilization is able to capture all the power from a star while Type 3 refers to the power of a galaxy.
Some added a few more levels over the years but this is the accepted ones.

While this is all theoretical, many expanded it to include other areas. There is no doubt that the amount of power we use increased greatly over the last 150 years. We also see the move towards renewable energy taking up some of the total output.
Nevertheless, we are still a Type O Civilization. At best, many project we are, at best, 100-200 years away from being at Type 1.
Carl Sagan, in 1973, put together a formula to determine where we stood. According to his conclusions, humanity is presently at Type 0.7 Civilization. More recent estimates place the world at a Type 0.72 Civilization.
Obviously, this focuses upon energy yet there is a great deal more that people apply to the idea. We are seeing a major shift throughout the world. Technology is a part of the advancement and change. We also see the procession throughout the universe placing us in a part of the galaxy we never we. In short, we are experiencing different energy (vibrations) we never encountered.
We know cryptocurrency has the potential to change the entire monetary system. This, in my view, is one of the main vehicles that is enslaving humanity. The world is operating under a "scarcity" model. By having a system like this, people will fight and battle to get what others have. Without abundance, limits are natural.
Fortunately, we are seeing more of our lives moved into the digital realm. This tends to remove the upper limits. We know from the example of music, when in the form of CDs and Records, there is a resource cost to the product. The transition to digital means that we can see abundance.
Money is experiencing the same thing.
Another aspect in all of this is control. Energy, presently, is controlled by the powerful. Nikola Tesla reportedly had his funding pulled when he discovered abundant energy because the profit motive was removed. This did not sit well with the bankers.
We know the monetary system is all about control. The Central Banks (along with the member banks) control the money supple and operate a boom/bust cycle methodology to increase their holdings.
Decentralization is key in all of this. There are 7 billion people on this planet yet only a select few benefit from the existing system. At the same time, there are a relatively small amount of people who actually contribute to the innovation and development of the advancement of technologies. The rest, provide supporting services that help to keep the masses under control.
Bitcoin was revolutionary because it was the first time money was created outside the existing power structure (unless it truly was a CIA creation). Nevertheless, the number of currencies that followed show how the masses can still create their own money. This is going to move us towards abundance since the value behind them can be based upon an abundant creation of value on the networks.
A lot of what is being discussed out there is too far out for the average person to contemplate. Explaining the internet to someone in the 1730s would be impossible. Since those people could not grasp electricity let alone computing, the ability to grasp the Internet was just too many steps removed.
Many in the spiritual realm refer to the "Awakening" although it comes under a number of names. This is an idea that humanity is moving to a point where it will realize the power it holds. Some discuss the "Matrix" as an energy that surrounds the planet as a means to control the masses. The belief is that higher vibrations are emerging helping to raise human consciousness to levels never experienced.
It is easy to get lost in time periods and judging based upon what we know. It is common to think in terms of 30 or 50 years. Much beyond 100 years is outside our perspective. Yet, when we look at the idea of time, what will thinks look like in 1,000 years. Just consider how far we advanced in a little over a century.
Humanity is going through a radical changed. It is expected that everyone will be online within the next 10 years. This will give all 7+ billion people access to the world's knowledge base. Imagine the possibilities when another 3.5B minds join the world of innovation and creation.
I believe cryptocurrency is going to be part of the uplifting of humanity. Having a monetary system that is decentralized and outside the control of the present controllers is vital. It might take a while to get there but it will happen.
Unless there are radical strides made in life extension, most of us will not be around to see a Type 1 world. However, over the next couple decades, we could see major strides in that direction.
Cryptocurrency is going to be a part of the equation.

Be careful, one !sneeze can delay our vision :P
The entire idea of a Type 0 world is only conceivable by a Type 0 world.
In other words, there is so much energy in between atoms, that we have a hard time contemplating. And there is the energy that is the universe, that can just be tapped.
But consciousness is even stronger than that.
Lets imagine the opposite. If we followed not Tesla, but Kozyrev, we would have refrigerators that slowed down time to keep foods fresh, instead of using energy to pump heat out of the fridge.
With using less energy, is the civilization less advanced?
What about the powers of pyramids?
When science finally starts understanding actual energy, that will be a game changer.
And, i agree that crypto-currencies will be the first steps in freeing humanity. Good money always is.
But, the current crypto paradigm is very flawed... but we will only understand that looking back. Where money seems to be no longer needed, but a very efficient exchange of energy system is in place. Money on multiple metrics.

Absolutely! When we make everything hyperefficient with blockchains, so much wealth will be freed up to be allocated towards innovation... We will finally have cheap electricity, housing - everything. Hopefully we'll have enough to get us off this burning rock one day and figure out terraforming. I'm trying to raise my kids Martian.
The spacetime continuum is a blockchain.
Blockchain has the potential to make the rate of growth towards Type 1 accelerate given the elimination of 3rd parties that are needed to make the systems inefficient which at the same time exclude billions from the process. Inclusion and efficiency will make a leap towards the potential we have to unleash even more of our capabilities.

A very interesting post indeed @taskmaster4450.
But looking at Kardashev's idea of energy use, there is one factor that he did not include, or maybe I'm wrong here, but what I mean is efficiency.
How much you get out of a certain amount of energy, just look at the evolution of computing for example, you have several orders of magnitude more computing power in your pocket with your smartphone, compared to the supercomputers of the 70s, and they certainly used a lot more energy.
So I feel that only energy use alone can not determine what is advanced or not, and the productivity that we get from the energy we currently use are really growing very fast.
Not faster than our current growth of energy use, but there is another factor here too, namely the efficiency of energy extraction, the energy it takes to produce the energy we use, and that is also growing really fast.
And then we come to blockchain, also something that will make things more efficient.
So the real question here is, are we really going to arrive at the point where we use all energy on earth? Do we even want that to happen?
Thanks for a good post.
