A Douglas Squirrel digging up lunch :)

in #busy6 years ago

Head first into the dirt, this little Douglas Squirrel digs his way to some food! You have to have a good memory to remember where all your food stashes are :) This little guy didn't seem to mind me filming him; though when a couple of people walked by, he did a little foot stomping routine, but I'm not sure what that is about :)

I love his little hands and claws, and his orange chest and arms. These high-energy squirrels can be heard throughout the forest with their high-pitch and rapid call :) Some people call these chipmunks, and they do look very similar in size and shape, but the chipmunk has striped fur; see @ratel's Ratel's photos #89 Chipmunk - Little Striped Greedy for what a Siberian chipmunk looks like :)

This video was captured at the Rose Garden in Stanley Park, Vancouver BC, Canada.

Thanks for watching!

hehe :) so funny squirrel!
We have parks in the city, they have squirrels, they are very tame. And it is very arrogant! They do not eat sunflower seeds, but require only pine nuts!

What a beautiful squirrel @ratel! I love those ears :) I'd love to see that squirrel in a heavy wind ;) Part squirrel, part bunny rabbit :p

You've got some spoilt squirrels there in Siberia ;) Pine nuts or nothing! I love it! Thanks :)
