Day 20 of Free Write: Round is a Shape Prompt
So excited that I am hitting Day 20 today! :).
You all remember how I went on a small hiatus where I was busy and couldn't participate in the prompts? Well yeah this is the hardest one yet since I've been back. Am I stalling right now to eat up some of my time? Of course not, I would never do that! I am a fast enough typer as it is!
I'll tell you what this prompt reminds me of. Back in whatever year of elementary school it was we had to learn about different shapes. You know of course there are things like a circle, square, triangle and all of that? Well the word round made me think about how at that young age we had to learn about the different names of those shapes in their 3-D form. Now to our young little minds they couldn't just be circles anymore! Our eyes were opened to the world of spheres, cubs, and pyramids!
You may think this also sounds boring, but I am about to open your mind to the other thing that this prompt reminded me of...the movie FLATLAND. Not really too much of a movie, I think it is only like 40ish minutes long, but it is a animated movie that literally goes over the dimensions of 2D, 3D and beyond. It wasn't really even like a boring educational video that we watched as kids...like I remember their actually being a plot-line and even a love interest subplot. It was a pretty damn intense movie that consisted of animated shapes lol.

I remember when I taught my children about the different shapes and their 3-D forms. The looks on their faces as they tried to wrap their minds around the idea! Thanks for recommending the movie, I'll put that on my list to check out!
