wow, finally get to it ... the rc posts arent generated and @goldmanmorgan isnt either (yet) for anything but the numbers and data, since im trying for layout and balancing, my blender is rusty at best so even that simple logo took me quite some time last night, and today, between mowing the lawn and dishes, re-installing the pc that's acting weird again i barely got ANYTHING done yet, but the replies and a few musings, its getting tiresome answering the same questions though, and i doubt linking my previous answer will earn much hahah so, i'll be scanning it in the future, see if anything worthwhile thats in my comfort zone, but im definitely not gonna treat it like the next utopian simply b/c they have cookies to give now. All bridges are burnt, its steemit now, @goldmanmorgan and @tyrnannoght will be taking most of my time (when im not trying to stop the house from collapsing due to entropy in the kitchen) so, whovever has masterplans, forget it, i am already nowhere and i aint going there (thats gramatically correct, right ?)


I got busy on gameguru last year but i crashed out around december, mentally, and i really havent done much since, steemit seems to have revived some interest in a little scripting but at a snailpace and i only function well at night ...
I remember trying some of this when i just got on and i got WRECKED by nazicleaners and their team of enlightened content fascists with no own talent because it was "not steemit" content , so let's try again, its time-saving week i want my distroscipts to be ready so i can get back to the fun-stuff

the "hood" looks seriously like "the hood" by now from a bird's eye view, lots of tweaking and digging and landfilling remodelling and texturing, uvmapping copy pasting cutting up photos sizing and rotating them into uv maps taking care not to remove the edges to keep that pseudo cellrender look


loading times are slightly closing in on the rooftop by now, a bit more and they'll shoot through
but it doesnt show how much time between yesterdays vid and this one ofcourse, its mostly under-the-hood after all the tweaking on graphics, interaction scripts, pathing for npcs , pick-uppable objects (like the crowbar and the screwdriver you need to black out a street or fix the lights , plenty of variables for the debugglez window ... sadly TRON announced they wont be bittorenting for money in the first decade to come so i'll have to find somewhere else to put it up in case someone could do something with it


oh yea, and an inventory system ofcourse (is not included in the core GG-editor, you have to hack it somewhat , its basicaly a script thats always active in an object on the map , always active means you dont have to go near it for it to trigger . Standard scripts attached to objects will only trigger from a certain distance or on destruction ... and its full time frame cycling, so the script is called with every cycle once, which means if you get 50 frames per second and you press "i" just like that, your inventory will flash open and close 50 times per second, so , that's why you have to

  • hack it*
    a bit ... or a byte, several dwords ... flags and stuff ... stuff and shit

should be clear from the looks i spent quite some time on the graphics, which is what i'll mostly be doing during daytime for @goldmanmorgan and @tyrnannoght from now on as the distros run practically by themselves for all but the posting
and keep the programming for night


the dozers are set on some kind of wandering pattern but they're not very smart so when they hit a wall they kinda stop, its all possible with advanced scripting ofcourse, i just didnt get there yet, and i dont think i will since i got stuff to do :) but if you wanna, GG is certainly worth checking (i have no affiliations) and best of all, you buy it once, EVERYTHING you would publish is royaltee free and 100% yours (cant say that of 90% of the "free" gamemaker tools out there)


npcs yea, things that dont attack, i had quite some planning worked out on the howto but at the risk of repeating myself, that crashed with the me , the cop would ofcourse intervene if you start shooting people lol so you would have to choose your path somewhat

yes ofcourse you can shoot anything that walks ... and thats not a hairdryer lol, some alien bopgun that came with the dlc

(no, poincgames is clearly not microsoft free but i think thats the only thing windows is useful for : directx, otherwise its a total waste to install on a production-pc)
i had to remove all audio because youble claimed copyright crud b/c of some music playing in the background so my nice voice explaination is gone, i hope to get back to stuff like this, especially the rpg on maker after i get the rest here up and running, but first things first and then the rest
