Taking a Relaxed and Scenic Walk Along the "Grand Union Canal"
I consider myself quite lucky, living in North West London that is close to a lot of leisure parks and green spaces. On top of that, the Grand Union Canal is also pretty much on our door step.
There is nothing better than a tranquil canal walk on the sunny afternoon. I usually start the walk from the Grand Union Canal in North Kensington. The path is wide enough for two people walking side by side most of the time. Occasionally, there are also some walkers with dogs as well as speeding cyclists.
The unfolding scenery of a canal-side walk is simply wonderful with lots of wildlife to observe and fresh air to breath in. All types of narrow boats and barges are on display, creating a nice attraction on the water. The colours and designs are so innovative and simply outstanding!
What a great way to chill out and relax! Along the canal path, there are a selection of pubs and cafes. After a long walk, it’s also quite enjoyable to have a well deserved refreshment or two! In such warm weather, I chose an ice lolly, lol! The new Mango & Raspberry Haagen-Dazs ice cream is absolutely delicious! If you haven’t had a chance to try it, give it a go!
I really enjoyed the lovely peaceful stroll along the Grand Union Canal, a great way to escape bustling city life and have a nice change of scenery!
