Don’t call me a minnow, I’m a baby whale

Look at them, the Ugandan steemians. They are still minnow….i mean baby whales. Do you know what I mean by baby whales? I doubt. I did write a short story of baby whales in search of their Daddy whales. It’s a story that reflects the journey of new steemians and their worries. I did learn a lot from steemit and would wish to make it as a story of baby whales in search of their Daddy whales.

I did learn a lot of things and still learn more again and again. Humm …... I still remember when I first heard about whales on steemit and I was like “really? Whales ? What about dolphins ? And then other fish varieties? I just told to myself that may be i’m a small whale, but just someone told me that i’m not even part of Whales and I'm just a small fish to small and lost in the ocean. Well, I did felt bad but then I was like may be I will grow and be a whale. But I kept on asking myself that, for me to be a whale I should first be a baby whale, but then how come that guy told me that I can’t be in whales variety and just an other fish variety.

Words hurts, but not for long. I went on Google searching for whales and their stories on Steemit. The funny bit of the story is just most of them are just human beings like me with one head, two hands and legs. I mean real human beings. Ahahhaa….I went back and told to my friend that I want to be in a whales family so that I may grow with them. He just laughed at me and he just silently told “ GO AND REST “ hummm...i was so confused and I was like “may be I'm lost and I do certainly need some guidance. I then went to see a friend full of enthusiasm about steemit. This guy could tell anyone about steemit, I mean even people who didn’t know how to use a computer I guess. This guy was no one but the great @jaraumoses. The steemit promoter in Uganda, great steemit supporter and courageous enough to say anything about steemit. I mean not lies.

OK, I did also followed his steps, slowly but surely as a baby whale. I now fell myself as part of the whales family. But, how can I call myself a baby whale when most of them don’t even know that I do exist? Hehehe….i don’t care as long as I'm a baby whale growing. They do not feed me, but do always try to feed myself with other baby whales. I may consider myself as a lost child desperate in a middle of an ocean, wondering the hell has happened to my parents.

I do always think that these whales will one day see their lost child and start feeding him properly as to grow healthy. The baby whale is suffering from choashorchal, he is malnourished yet having parents! Impossible. The baby whale is really suffering, he no longer eats properly…but when you whales will grow old, who will be taking care of you? There will be no apology in the future when I'll be like you. But, do not worry I’ll take care of you. “I do like eating and dancing” says the baby whale. “How should I dance if I have not eaten” still says the baby whale. The baby whale is worried of his future and call for help…..will this Daddy hear his cry? I doubt. Cause Daddy is busy working.

The daddy whale has so many tasks to fulfill, he will be at work always, making future forecasts, chasing out thieves that come in the night, and even welcoming well wishers. Sometimes, the Daddy whale is too tough. He can punish baby whales out of a blue and just out of his will. I do call it a dictatorship, but have no other choice than being in a whales family. I do always tell Daddy whale to love others, but he always fell sweet with himself. Other Daddy Whales are polite and admirable, they do buy for their babies sweets and even bring food to the neighbors...i wish I had also such a daddy. My Daddy whale is no way to be seen. I did follow all his steps and keep on running away from me, but one day I believe that I'll be with him and share the same house with him.

“I’m feeling so lonely” says the baby whale. “But for how long” asked the desperate baby whale. The desperate baby whale continued “ I did look for dad for long and I never saw him. Now I’ve started doing everything from my own” The baby whale understood that hard work always bring good results. He understood that one day the lost Daddy will come on his way. He started following other baby whales, they lived together, shared everything together and lived a happy life together. The baby whale found a family with them and even started dreaming about them being his brother. That was real though none of them knew. The where left by the same Daddy as everyone was born and left after. They did hate their Daddy before, but time came when they really needed him. They started looking for him all over the place, asking for direction and guidance from the various places in the village.

“Daddy is real, We know that one day we shall see him” they said. . All of them went on singing “ Daddy is real we know that we shall see him” as they continued repeating these words, it then became a song. The whole village heard the song and all other Desperate Baby whales decided to follow them. All of them made it a song “ Daddy is real we know we shall see him” as the number increased they changed into “ Daddies are real, we know we shall see them” when an old whale heard them, he then looked at them and gently laughed at them. One of the baby whales looked at him from the right side and then told to the nearer Baby whales, slowly the whole group knew and wondered if the old man knew something about their Daddies. Well, they followed the old whale but couldn’t find him. He just disappeared all of a sudden. One of the baby whales knew the wife of the old whale and he had to tell others. They did go to the old whales house and found the wife.

Then, as the old female whale looked at them, she also laughed. The baby whales where confused and ran so as to catch the old female whale. She then entered her house instantly and started singing “ You know you know….my husband is there but no way to be seen….He is my gold...when I seen him I celebrated and when I don’t see him I starve….keep on searching …..he will come at the right time and disappear at his time….oh...babies I was also like you and still looking for my husband though old as I am” After hearing that, some of the baby whales decided to go back home and others chose to proceed the search for their daddies more and more.

This is a story of Steemit Uganda, Those who chose to be part of Uganda chose to make their stories known around the world and others chose to go back home. Some did forget that as the whale comes, he comes as a precious gold. I would wish searching for the whale than seating and not seeing him eternally. The choice is ours, we either make Steemit great or something else. Steemit has been growing all over the world and it is our turn to make it vibrant in east Africa. We know that we are still baby whales but with courage we may find our gold. Hard work always bring success and lazy people do not earn anything on their way. Keep on promoting Steemit in class, at home, when selling your cabbages in the market or even in the washing rooms. The place does not mater as long as you have love in Steemit.
