Thoughts on Weku after one week.
I'm sure by now that many of you have heard of Weku.
It's another cryptocurrency social media site. It's based on the Steemit framework, and it looks a heck of a lot like Steemit right now.
Is it a clone?
Not really. It's calling itself the first SAAS platform. Software-as-a-service.

That essentially means that the audio and video capabilities will be built in, as opposed to coming from external applications like Dtube.
I think competition is a good thing. I truly believe by next year we're going to have more than a dozen blogging platforms of this nature.
Steemit can't swim alone in the ocean forever.
Of all the ones I've seen so far, I do believe that Weku is the best competitor to Steemit.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all in on Steemit and I'm not going anywhere.
However, if you really enjoy writing and you want to check out an alternate platform, I suggest giving Weku a go.
Several of your favorite Steemians are already there.
After one week I can say that things are quite similar to how they were here at the beginning. There is a bit of spamming and other bad behaviors, but for the most part the head guys are working it out.
I really love Steemit, but it's always a good idea to check out what's happening around you.

I think a little competition is a good thing. You'd be surprised how many people are over there.
as far as it concerns me it still looks like a clone. It's really like some of the people there sing up in steemit and for a week they did a search as to what the problems are. They found out about the external apps like dtube dlive etc etc and they said ok let's make something with the exact same interface, logic (wkd wuke power etc etc) and then solve the external apps problem.
Imagine if we say ok, bid-bots are the issue and then make an exact copy of steemit with an embed ban to those services ( i can't call that innovation :P)
On the other hand though as you mention too, it's the best competitor steemit has and i like to see competition because it will make both platforms better, or at least i hope so. Also if they manage to keep the issues steemit has away the there is a future for weku!

As you know, I went through the link you posted last time and then came back and told you I couldn't get the SMS thingy to send me a confirmation text. I tried again the next day, going back to my confirmation email and pressing the confirm button again, only to have the same thing happen, gave it my number, no text.
I let it sit a few days and then went back to my email, clicked on cofirm again and this time it did not do the SMS message again, it just said I was now under consideration and another email would be sent, which I haven't seen yet.
I have time to wait though. 🌝
That's weird. I know they had some issues but I thought they had them sorted out.
I figured they must have realized their text thingamabob wasn't working and took it down at least temporarily. One day maybe.... but really, I am so new at this, that Steemit keeps me pretty busy, so it's really no big deal how long it takes.
It’s great to have competition. Steem does have a solid community and dapps.
