In the last Part, (Look at Part 1 and Part 2) I told you my thoughts and experiences about Santorini's nightlife. In this part, I aim to show you my photos of Oia district, red beach and ancient Santorini People, the Minoans!

^{Red Beach}
Imagine a red beach! As I know there are two places in the world like this. One is in Panjin, China, and the other one is on Santorini Island. In this beach, all the sand is formed from the volcanic rocks. It is very difficult to get to this place. You should walk along the mountain in order to reach the swimming area. Or another option is to take rafts which are only for taking tourist to this side of the island.

This beach is not so impressive. rocky sand and cold water. But it's worth to see there despite the hard walking all the way down!

With one last effort, I left the site and took my selfie with this interesting place. There is a steep region where all the beach is seen in one frame and you can take panoramic photographs of the beach, easily. I got the advantage of this place for my selfie.

After a challenging return back to our hotel, we decided to go to an interesting place on the island, Oia. Oia is a small and a scenic town which is settled on the northwest side. You can find restaurants and classical Santorini Rooftops. But the most famous side of Oia is sunsets. Many people come here and take place to see while the sun goes down.

You can see very typical and beautiful examples of the Cycladic architectural buildings in this town. I put one photo above. And of course, we also didn't forget to stop and smell the roses in a restaurant 🔆. In Oia, People patiently await the sun to go down. And once the sunsets everybody celebrates this moment like a celebration. It sounds like a kind of ritual to me! Below you may find a video showing what I want to say. Oia was an interesting and unique experience for us.

After that day, we found a museum which has archeological artifacts belonging to ancient citizens of the Island, Minoans. The museum is in Fira, city center called 'Museum of Prehistoric Thera'. The remains of Minoans which are collected from Akrotiri distinct. Of course, we took from every stand that we saw.

Minoans lost most of his people because of the big volcanic eruption. But I realize that this civilization was much more advanced comparing other societies in the world. They had a higher order technological lifestyle on their own age. For example, they were able to build multistorey buildings and vertical house sewage systems as well. That's fantastic! I am talking about 5700 years before today!!

Kıpkırmızı bir plaj düşünün! Bildiğim kadarıyla dünyada iki tane böyle bir yer var. Birisi Panjin Çin ve bir diğeri de Santorini Adasında. Buradaki tüm plaj kumu kırmızı volkanik kayalardan oluşmuş. Bu plaja gitmek ise oldukça zor. Ya dağın arasında yürüyerek gitmek zorundasınız. Ya da bu iş için servis veren botlardan birine binerek buraya gelmek zorundasınız.

Dürüst olmak gerekirse bu plajın kıpkırmızı olması haricinde bence çok da çekici bir tarafı bulunmuyor. Çok fazla çakıl taşı ve soğuk sular. Ama O kadar yol yürüyüp de buralara geliyorsanız mutlaka görmeniz gereken yerlerden birisi.

Son bir gayretle yine çakıllı-kayalı yollardan geri dönüyoruz ve gitmeden bütün manzarayı fotoğraf makinesinin içine alacak şekilde son bir selfie çekmeyi unutmuyoruz.

Oia, küçük bir Santorini kasabası. Buranın manzaraları bütün adanın manzaralarının kralı mahiyetinde. Adanın kuzey batı kısmında yer alıyor. Burada da bir çok kafe ve restoranı bulabilmeniz mümkün. Ama Oia'nın en meşhur tarafı günbatımları. Bir çok turist, buraya gün batarken güneşi seyretmeye geliyor.

Burada Kiklat mimarisinin en tipik ve güzel örneklerini kolaylıkla ve bol miktarda bulabilirsiniz. Tabi biz de bütün bu güzel manzaraların keyfini bir cafe'ye oturup soğuk içeceklerimizi yudumlayarak çıkarıyoruz. Burada güneş battığı anda, sanki bir kutlamaymış gibi sanki bir ritüel gibi insanlar hep bir elden bir olup alkış tutmaya başlıyor. Bunu yukarıdaki verdiğim videoda görebilirsiniz.

Daha sonraki gün, Thera (Santorini) Tarih Öncesi müzesine gidiyoruz. Burada Girit Uygarlığının Akrotiri bölgesinden çıkarılan kalıntıları ve el yapımı eşyalarını görebiliyoruz. Hemen hemen her stand'tan fotoğraf çektim ama yalnızca bir kaçını paylaşabiliyorum.

Minoslular (ya da Giritliler) büyük volkan patlamasında nüfuslarının çok büyük bir kısmını kaybedip zayıflamışlar. Ama bundan daha önemlisi Minoslular çağının en gelişmiş toplumlarından birisiymiş. Kendi zamanlarına göre çok ileri bir teknolojiye sahiplermiş. Öyle ki çok katlı evler ve bu evlerin içine giren dikey kanalizasyon sistemleri ve sıhhi tesisatlar yapabilmişler. 5700 yıl öncesinden bahsediyorum. Unutmayın!!
