The Indian Interior Ministry said in a tweet on Wednesday that 'This announcement will allow peace-loving Muslims to perform Ramadan in a peaceful environment.' Kashmiri Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said on Wednesday that he hoped that this decision will create a peaceful and coherent environment for long-term dialogue.

Immediately there was no response from Kashmiri rebel groups.

This was the first ceasefire between Hijbul Mujahidin, the largest organization of Indian authorities and rebels after a temporary ceasefire in 2000.

Both the countries of India and Pakistan claim that Kashmir is their own territory. Since 1947, Kashmir has been divided by the so-called border line (control of the Line of Control).

Tension increased in India-controlled Kashmir in the last few months. According to officials, more than 270 rebels were killed in the operation of the Indian Army since last year. Earlier this month, 5 civilians and 5 rebels were killed in a gunfight with Indian security forces. Just a month before this incident, there was a huge protest against Kashmir in the event of the death of four civilians. Thousands of people have died in ongoing conflict for decades.

It is to be noted that some of the armed rebel organizations in Kashmir are protesting for direct independence. Some people are again in favor of Kashmir's integration with Pakistan. In the aftermath of history, the independence movement of the country was gradually being converted into Islamization. Now Hizbul Mujahidin among the rebel organizations there are the most active. However, Indian authorities do not recognize the independence movement of Kashmir separately from different militant activities. Many rebels, including suspected militant names, are accused of killing civilians as well as against Indian forces.
