Empty Streets

I was forced to go out of the house today because I ran out of gas. I use one of those pre-paid meters for gas because I once had a legal disagreement with British Gas. I refused to be bullied and ripped off and stopped paying my bill, so they retaliated by fitting me with a pay as you go meter instead.

I loved it! For the first time, I was only paying for gas I used. I know it sounds like I was getting a bad deal, but see, I wasn't home for most of the year anyway, so I wasn't stuck with the ripoff base rate they'd be charging all this time.

Anyhow, being the 1st, the streets were deserted. All shops were closed with the exception of the convenience store near me, and one café. I actually did a coffee pit stop on the way back, and there were only two of us in there.

The streets were really deserted. A lot of people were probably just asleep following the NYE shenanigans. Others were probably having a hung-over day in, recovering for tomorrow when they're back to work.

Whatever the case may be, I like deserted streets - especially in winter time. I'm not a people person see :)
