Setting business goals
Once we have the basics down its important to continually seek ways to improve.
This can be accomplished by regularly taking a long hard look at things. A realistic inspection and introspection of ourself and business will reveal areas that may be improved. If we can't find areas that could do with improvement we are not looking hard enough.
Once we have identify these areas then it is important that we make plans and set goals that help us to rectify and improve.
Goals should be framed in such a way that they are exciting, easy to remember and easy to measure. These goals should be written down, aim high and stretch ourselves and business in a realistic way.
Good advice, businesses need a spring cleaning too. Time to make things new and better and get rid of or change old things that are not working
Yea...Setting goals in businesses and in life generally is really important for any wise person who seeks to be successful in life.
It is also important that we work towards the goal, not just setting them.

Every team member must buy in to these goals.
I have frequently come across the acronym S.M.A.R.T. when discussing goals with others.
Creating S.M.A.R.T. can help you to clearly define the goal and propel you to acheive it.
*S - Specific. Be specific and clear.
*M - Measurable. You need to be able to measure your progress
*A - Attaintable. Set a challenging but acheivable goal.
*R - Relevant. Ensure your goal is relevant to align with your vision
*T - Timely. A goal needs a time frame attached, otherwise it is up in the air.
I have found this to also be very useful as a manager, and in giving tasks to my employees.
As an example, instead of asking to clean up the lunchroom. Ask for them to clean all the tables and chairs and mop the floor, also clean out the microwave. Please let me know when you are done and I will come check, it should only take about an hour. Thanks.
