63 Sam's Club stores Are Closing: The Following Locales Will Shutdown

• Walmart will close 63 Sam's Club stores, while laying off thousands of employees, in the process.

• The closures stretch across numerous states and Puerto Rico.

• The Memphis, Tennessee Sam's Club and nine other stores will be turned into e-commerce distribution centers.

Walmart's closing 63 Sam's Club stores across 24 states, to include Puerto Rico. The company abruptly shut down stores, this passed Thursday. Others one the chopping block will close in the upcoming weeks. Walmart will give those employees the opportunity to apply for jobs at 10 closing stores that will be turned into e-commerce distribution centers. The first store that will realigned as a distribution center is located in Memphis, Tennessee.
