Steem Front Ends Should Implement Opt-Out-Of-Trending

in #burnpost5 years ago (edited)

I love @burnpost and @sbdpotato. The former is for burning STEEM and supporting the token value in these critical times. The latter is for buying SBD with STEEM to support the peg. Both are fine projects.

But should every post they make occupy Trending? This is what I'm talking about (screenshot from beta.steemit.com):

I don't think it's good to have this in Trending.

It should be possible for placeholder posts like this to use a tag called, say, #optoutoftrending or #skiptrending, to tell the front ends that they shouldn't show it in Trending despite the high rewards. That's because posts like that are not content meant to attract outside attention but made for entirely other type of purposes.

Also, please do set @burnpost or @sbdpotato on auto-vote if you support them. A suggestion to those who run the projects: please suggest that Steemians support them with auto-votes in the posts.

One burnpost or sbdpotato post in Trending per week should be enough because it's unattractive if they hog too much space in it. Instructions how to set the accounts on auto-votes would be a good idea, IMO.

To set accounts on auto-vote, go to steemauto.com or steemvoter.com. On steemauto.com, go to Fanbase and follow the instructions. Remember to optimize the timing of your vote to maximize your curation rewards. 3-5 minutes is usually the best time. You can use decimals. I haven't used steemvoter.com but you may be familiar with it.

I agree it should not occupy the trending. To me it seems more like a sophisticated cover up to farm in plain sight, so I flag it!

Anyone can check whether all the coins are burned. There is no need for any guesswork:
