Incandescent Bulb
An incandescent light bulb, inacndescent lamp or inacandescent light globe is a electric light with a wire fillament heated to such a high tempreture that it glows with visible light (incandescene). The filament is protected from oxidation with a glass or fused quartz bulb that is filled with inert gas or a vaccum. In a halogen lamp, filament evaporation is slowed by chemical evaporation that redepoaites metal vapour onto the filament, there by extending its life.
Incandescent bulb are manufactured in a wide range of sizes, light output and voltage rating, from 1.5 volt to about 300 volts.
They require no external regulating equipment have low manufacturing costs, and work equally well on entire alternating current or direct current. As a result, the incandescent bulb is widely used in household and commercial lighting such as table lamps, head lamps, car and flashlights, and for decrative and advertising lighting.
