I am a big fan of **passive income** and proof of stake coins are one way to build this up and even having SBD will give you a bit of passive income but now Buildteam has come up with another way to create a bit of STEEM while holding their coins.

But now the auction system has passed and they are evolving to a Proof-of-Stake way of working

Since I still had some Buildteam tokens (a whopping 3 tokens) sitting in my Bitshares wallet I decided to get them staked and want to do a step by step for you all to show how to go about this... If you do not have any buildteam tokens yet then this definitely is the time to go get them

Basically there is not a lot to it:

Log into your bitshares wallet and go to the send button as seen on the picture on the left and move on to the next step

Do take note of the QR code or the name of the account felander-a, this is very important because you are going to want to deposit some BTS or Buildteam into this account just because you can and you feel super grateful and generous today

then the next step will be filling out the form to transfer the funds you want to stake.

• So the recipient will be buildteamvest
• Do not forget to change the coin to Builteam token because it is automatically set to BTS
• enter the amount you want to vest
• and in the memo field you should mention the account that will get paid with the stake, this does not need to be your account but it HAS to be a STEEM ACCOUNT (my account: felander is fine as well)
  

as you can see there are already some people that have staked their buildteam tokens and will be receiving part of the pot payout twice per month: on the 1st and the 16th of every month there will be a nice extra in their wallet

following the link to the excel document will show who is staking how much and in the pic you can see that I am now among such illustrious names as @velimir @furious-one @techblogger @steembusiness

if you get enough and SMTs explode the steem price this might turn out to be early retirement (more for them then for me, but hey, Babysteps)
