Important Announcement for minimum bids ($2 min)

in #buildawhale7 years ago (edited)

Due to the number of bids coming in, price of steem, and our total Steem Power, we need to switch to 2 SBD minimum bid. The voting cycle is taking forever which is slowing down how fast we can vote and recover due to the high demand due to the price of STEEM.

Effective immediately, the minimum bid is now 2 SBD. We are currently voting and when that is finished, it will be locked down to 2 SBD only. I don't like raising the minimum bid as it limits who can use it, but it is something that is out of my control at this point. We really should make it 5 SBD as that would totally fix the issue, but I feel that is just too high.

If you sent 1 SBD already, just send another 1 SBD with the same exact memo and it will combine them into a 2 SBD bid. As long as it is in the same bid window, they will be combined. The next window will be slower due to the all the 1 SBD bids.

Great work gang this account has some serious influence. Keep using your powers for good!

What about those of us that bid $1 an hour ago, before we saw this post? do we get an upvote or a refund?

same here, did a bid 4.5h ago

2sbd is not something every minnow can afford :(

There are literally dozens of smaller upvote bots. Just use the smaller bots until you can compound the profits and afford the bigger bots.

Agreed, the amount of SP we have caused very long voting cycles with the number of bids we received due to the increased price of STEEM. It was causing our voting windows to take far longer than normal and drian more voting power.

By changing to 2 SBD, we can try to normalize our windows again and prevent this from happening.

yes, you are right, I think $1.5 sbd is a fair amount. sir, please change minimum bid to $1.5 sbd instead of $2 sbd

What he is saying is that having it that low right now is impossible. Too many bids. If too many people bid 1sbd bids, it would 1. it may be too low a percentage of vote to actually vote and 2. it is taking too long to complete the process which wont work. It isnt about be greedy. There are smaller bots too out there that might fit you better. upmyvote is good too. or randwhale.

in the end it is just business ¯_(ツ)_/¯
who can afford shall climb the escalator while other takes the stairs.

There are options for 1 SBD or fewer bids. There are technical reasons why we just cannot do it anymore. I only raise the minimum bid when I absolutely have to.

Yep I understand ! Hopefully I will be earning more to bid with you again :)

@buildawhale @themarkymark Dear sir, please decrease the minimum bid to $1.5 SBD as $2 SBD is very high and the upvote will not be profitable anymore. Please decrease it to $1.5. Thanks

I understand that, unfortunately, due to the number of bids we receive due to the price of STEEM and the fact we can vote for over $1,000, the 1 SBD was causing out voting cycles to take 5-10 times longer.

There are lots of other bots that handle smaller bids gracefully, but with how much Steem Power we have it just isn't possible to keep a 1 SBD bid minimum.

I am working on a few new bots that work differently.

I am very happy to read your post, will this interesting offer. thank you for making this announcement. btw, I've sent you 10 sbd with the link

does the percentage you get per vote change? or just the minimum amount you can bid? thanks

asking real questions here !!

The vote we give is based on how many people bid in the window, how much they bid as a whole, how much you bid, and the price of STEEM.

In short, every bid window is different and there is no way to predict.

it's a bidding system. So one window i one 100% vote broken into smaller parts based on everyones bid.

hello sir, i did a bid 5h ago, i didn´t read the blog before doing so because i was busy at work, i know it was my fault, but i wont be able to get the other sbd until the last 12h of the post i bid... could you please consider upvote this time only for the close the bid was done to the time of the adjustment? :c

With all due respect I've transfered 1SBD 6 hours ago and didn't get yourupvote.

Time of my post is almost over 6days. Please upvote as soon as possible or refund

I see an upvote. The voting was taking longer due to the large amount of 1 SBD bids submitted, that's why we had to go to 2 SBD minimum bid to bring our windows back to normal.

Thank you for your great response @buildwhale looking forward with you. And please its a request for everyone's good keep the minimum bid 1sbd. It is helping low sbd owners like us a lot.

Unfortunately, due to technical reasons, I cannot. The small 1 SBD bids are causing a big backup in our voting cycles due to the demand with the price of STEEM/

the minimum fees is 2sbd now so no refunds :/

You mentioned that earlier. He got a vote, we cannot refund on user error, but if someone submits 1 SBD they can submit it again with another 1 SBD with the same memo and it will be combined into a 2 SBD bid if it is in the same window.
