Facebook announced that they are banning advertising for cryptos today. I wonder if that will include Steemit (and Steem). Could that be a factor in trying to stop migration of users away from Facebook? I didn't consider that in a brief post I wrote on the issue.... I thought they were simply trying to clean up the suspect advertising they've been scrutinized for lately...

I guess so, especially as Steemit could be seen as competition to Facebook

Thank you, didnt know that...

But hé, 21K people signed up on Steemit yesterday, so i guess we're good!

While getting 24k new users yesterday was really nice, we still need a lot more new users if we want to become mainstream :) Getting people to convert from Facebook to Steemit could be huge for the growth of Steem!

You're correct,

but; new users should get some time to get familiar with the Steem blockchain and be confident to buys some at good prices as well!

Yeah, it is important to remember that it takes a while to get used to Steem(it). It can often feel overwhelming for new users here, especially those who have never touched a cryptocurrency before.

I like Steemit better. Only been here 2 days but like it much better already. Facebook is one thing but I notice we still getting alot of love on Google search engine. Lets pray that continues. In my short period of time here I can tell you that for investors this is by far better than Facebook. I love this community so far and look to grow here.

we still getting alot of love on Google search engine

We all need to keep posting links to Steem(it) from outside of the blockchain if we want this trend to continue ;)

Welcome by the way! I'm glad you like it better here than on Facebook!

Oh wow, this will most likely include Steem and Steemit.. This really sucks!

just saw your comment after posting the same thing. Facebook have battered ne for a whole month when it comes to posting steemit links across there

The problem is the users are desensitized to seeing the ads, and they no longer become useful. The good thing is that those who do see them, will hopefully see the Steem ads!

While I agree with the argument that many users are desensitized to adds, this is of course not completely true. Online ads is a billion dollar industry, so obviously the ones who are paying for the adds have to make a profit of it, or else they would not keep paying for it.
