Botanical Garden Tours : #016 Alstroemeria Aurantiaca : Lily of the Incas / Inka-Lilie

Welcome to another day of the #botanicalgardentours. Today I want to present to you the Alstroemeria Aurantiaca, also known as the Lily of the Incas.

Herzlich willkommen zu einem weiteren Tag mit den #botanicalgardentours. Heute möchte ich euch die Alstroemeria Aurantiaca vorstellen, die auch als Inka-Lilie bekannt ist.

The flower is native to South America, especially in Chile and Brazil. It can reach hights up to 90 cm and is winter-hardy up to - 15 °C. The flowers are a bit demanding and require at least six hours of sunlight, regular water, and moist and well-drained soil. They are really popular by our little pollinators and butterflies.

Die Blume stammt aus Südamerika und ist vorallem in Chile und Brasilien beheimatet. Sie kann Höhen bis zu 90 cm erreichen und ist winterhart bis - 15 ° C. Die Blumen sind jedoch etwas anspruchsvoller und fordern mindestens sechs Stunden Sonnenlicht, viel Wasser und feuchten und gut durchlässigen Boden. Sie sind sehr beliebt bei unseren kleinen Bestäubern und Schmetterlingen.

The leaves are alternately arranged and resupinate. Interesting is that they are twisted on the petioles so that the undersides face up. The flower has six petals which can each get up to 5 cm long and form out s chalice like shape. Those come in many very beautiful colour mixtures and tones such as red, orange, purple, green, and white, flecked and striped and streaked with darker colors. There really is a big variety and all look sooo great. There is a total of six curving long stamens.

Die Blätter sind wechselständig angeordnet. Interessant ist, dass sie an den Blattstielen so verdreht sind, dass die Unterseiten nach oben zeigen. Die Blüte hat sechs Blütenblätter, die jeweils bis zu 5 cm lang werden und eine kelchartige Form bilden können. Diese kommen in vielen sehr schönen Farbmischungen und Tönen vor wie Rot, Orange, Lila, Grün und Weiß, sie sind gesprenkelt, gestreift und zudem meist noch mit dunkleren Farben gestreift. Es gibt wirklich eine große Auswahl und alle sehen sooo toll aus. Es gibt insgesamt sechs geschwungene lange Staubblätter.
