India and Pakistan have fought over Jammu & Kashmir, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. And then between India and China, what's called the Doklam standoff has resulted in one of the biggest conventional military built ups in Indian history. Are these events solely to protect the territory? Probably not. In fact, Doklam isn't even part of Indian territory.
It is bewildering to see India's willingness to fight in the land that it doesn't claim to be part of its territory, while simultaneously refusing to fight against the encroachment to the land that it claims to be part of its territory at the Indo-Myanmar border region.
Myanmar has time and again carried out provocative activities such as burning down the boundary pillars and weathered stump. Apart from the inaction by the central govt, the state govt of India's Manipur along with its Hindu population are equally inactive and not showing their enthusiasm for fighting back at the Burmese aggression.
Manipur and its Hindu population are known for their slogan that says, "Not an inch of land will be compromised". Why then are these people silent in the face of Burmese aggression?
The Christian community of Manipur wants to know why their land in Manipur hasn't been protected from Burmese aggression. Both the govt of India and the govt of Manipur have had said that the Christian community of Manipur will not be allowed to form their own state and that they must remain under Manipur whether they like it or not. Now, under this circumstance, Myanmar has intruded upon the indigenous Christian areas (popularly referred to as "Manipur hill") with no one to stop them.
It is shocking that India could stoop so low so as to welcome such aggression if the act threatens to destroy only the indigenous Christians. This is beyond appalling.
