Dresden Files
The Dresden Files - a series by Jim Butcher.
I was handed a book one day and told nothing about it. It was the middle of a series. It was a fantasy type book and i do love fantasy stories. I found this was book 7 or 8 in the series. White knight. So I started reading it. I figure what the heck nothing else to do.
The book had breif introductions to the characters but i accounted it to being in an already existing story verse. It however quickly caught my attention and i couldnt put it down.
Ok a wizard in Chicago durring modern times. This will be fun i thought. And it was. I finished that book and was unable to find the book series available to be to start reading from the begining at first.
After a short while i started finding the book series in parts everywhere. Not from the begining. So i started reading them out of order. 3 or 4 books into the series i wasnt able to find time to actually read them. Audio books here i come. Never did that before.
I spent the next 30 days listening to the books while driving and at work. 15 books in total. The 15th book was released jsut after i finished the 14th. Not only did i listen to the books i collected them in hard and soft bound. After and while listening to them i read theough the series. I couldnt put it down or turn them off.
Ok so what caught me on them? Fantasy? Real familiar place i have never been? Characters? No the whole thing and evolving story.
Jim Butchers writing amaized me. Harry Dresden modern wizard for hire. Friends in unexpected places. Police hired. Friends in the church and new fantasy world and universe. Karen Murphy the second lead roll. His brother is what? A vampire? Faries, pixies, riding dinosaurs. But he had such a bad reputation and what followed him even darker but fun.
The evolvement in this was pure thrill of the ride. I just couldn't stop reading and listening. Book after book I read the life of this wizard and his suprising luck being a rebel to his code.
Even read some graphic novels and watched a tv series. The graphics novel put better visuals to the characters and experiences. The TV series was good but so many bad changes still had to put it in my collection. Nicholas Cage directed and produced the TV series i believe.
Now couple years sense my last time through the series amd still waiting on the next book. Jim Butcher still writing but for a different series he has. I think he has 3 or 4 book series he writes. I havent read anything else he has done yet.
Now i wait for more than some fan made movies to be done also. And the fan made i have read and followed he actually works with their productions. It hasnt had any real updates in a while but i hope for a good theatrical release to big screen to eventually happen.
Here is what i say about this book. Read it if you are into fantasy. Read it if you like a simple fun read. Beware its adictive especially after the first book. Only downfall of first book was that it introduced the world a lot for what was to come. After that its all good times.

Thank you.
That is cool. They tried to make a tv series on it I believe SyFy channel had picked it up. They made half a season then it went off air never to return. I liked it but then again I like that kind of stuff. Great post! Upvoted and resteemed
The tv series i believe was syfy channel and it made full season but not renewed for second season.
I know there wasn't very many episode... but that is still awesome you had gotten the books. Sometimes tv series or movies do not do the books justice!
It was fun series to watch but to many changes. His beetle and walking stick changed were the 2 that hurt me the most. They were big parts of the character to me.
i love fantasy books thanks for sharing
It was and still is my favorite book series. I have tried reading many other authers and none gave mee the feel of being part of it like this one.
