ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect Effectiveness During the Day With Sunlight

A quick update with some more information regarding my recent post for The Prescription Glasses with DuraVision BlueProtect by ZEISS, this time with a graph showing the coating performance with sunlight during the day. The light from the sun during the day is much brighter than what we get with artificial light in the night. The natural sunlight also has quite a decent amount of UV and Blue light components...

Winter Day Sunlight: Color Temperature 4867K, CRI 98 Ra, Illuminance 44200 lux
ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect: Color Temperature 4772K, CRI 97.6 Ra, Illuminance 42000 lux

There is about 100K drop in the color temperature, that is the slight warming up of the image you see wearing the prescription glasses with the DuraVision BlueProtect coating, not that much, but still noticeable difference for people that are more sensitive to color changes. Slight drop in the color rendering index and about 5% drop in the illuminance level.

The most important thing however is the level of reduction in the UV and Blue light, as you can see there is quite significant change in the graph showing the spectral distribution of the light with and without the glasses. So the ZEISS DuraVision BlueProtect coating does work really well with sunlight during the day as well as with most artificial light as you can see in the previous post with tests using artificial light sources.
