10 Questions to make your Brain Hurt Challenge #2 Drag your friends in and present the most awesome answers :-)

in #blog8 years ago

I love a good brain workout. I'm always a massive fan of works that push people's minds to the limit. That's why Ghost in the Shell 2: Innocence is my favorite Ghost in the Shell movie and One of my life's most geeked out moments was the architect scene from The Matrix: Reloaded which many people found to be nonsensical. First of all a quick shout out to everybody who answered my previous post:  @chris1993 @benlabelle  @tutufaith  kivsha  @addempsea  @ezerpa02  @sv1rby

Let's see what I can come up with. I don't plan these posts.

1)What is the most common reason for paradoxes. What makes things appear as paradoxes.

2)If a machine had a large enough database to emulate human emotion would you say the machine is feeling things or is it just sophisticated programming.

3)If you could data-mine your brain to create a simulation.approximation of yourself, what would you do?

4)102202+1020002= 1122211 Prove that this statement is true.

5)Would you rather die in sleep than die while being awake given that both deaths would be peaceful.

6)Would you rather live to be frail and weak or die before your body turn fragile.

7)If a person was lied to about a fact and that person tells the truth actually thinking that he/she is lying, is that person a sinner or is he/she pure.

8)Would you rather be a rich person in Venezuela living in comfort or a be a pet owning millions of dollars worth assets in Switzerland? If you picked the pet, which animal would you choose to become?

9)Do you visit the same imaginary place in dreams years after you first see them? Do those places have metaphysical existence or are they just another memory like imagining yourself at a familiar place in the "real" world?

10)Give me one objective universal quality/feature of true happiness (and the people who have achieved such happiness)

Well that took about 40 minutes. It's a really good brain workout for me to come up with these questions and ask myself my own answers. It'd be irresponsible to ask questions that I can't even come up with an answer. Since I've made made the list for you, you'd be able to answer in less time. Just use the number of the question when you answer things in the comments.

Paradox occur when things contradict ”What makes things appear as paradoxes” it goes against believe

  1. That word gives it all away .It emulate. Do you remember season 2 episode 1 of black mirror when the woman lost her husband on some crash eventually an acquaintance of her recommended her an service where an AI emulate her recently diseased husband . At first it was only text messages that they were exchanging but that AI said you can go further if you want . And of course she said yes . After a while she got robot that exactly looked like her husband and the AI was in that body .She was happy for a while but she realized it was all artificial and it was only an machine that was emulating her dead husband .She had to give constantly information how her husband was like .Conclusion it just sophisticated programming. But shoutout the maker .Well done

  2. Good question,
I am assuming I am his master so my first order I would give would be learn everything especially trading ,cryptocurrency and also computer science .It could be quite handy . I would have a copy of me that would be amazingly good at trading after countless try of course, That we be a bliss. The other thing I would do is I would observe him in different environments .I am assuming that I can control his environments .

4
Use Calculator or your head or guess 50/50 chance , I am way to lazy

5.In both cases you’re a lucky person ,you die peacefully .But my preference would go to going out while you sleep . why give a heartache people around you .

6
It’s depends on the situation do I have something to live so yes I would live and I will fight on until the last moment
7
I had to read it twice , That person pure in this instance

  1. I have sharpen my Spanish skills . How could a pet in gods nname handle assets worth millions of dollar .Obviously you could you use the money .

9.Yes , But I have to think about that place again . I usually do this to relax myself and to think of an idea

10
Able to die with an smile on your face .While your life flashing before your eyes . Happy about the fact how you lived your life. I think many people had the luck experiencing that .

That was an work out ,phuhh

Yep it's epic. In the root of paradoxes you'll find contradictions and they are caused by false premises, false assumptions, unknown variables and plain ignorance.

  1. 100% agreed Also check the Christmas Special which was even better and explored something very similar.
2)I'll just use him to do my tasks. So It'll be trading, cleaning things up, ordering stuff, decorating stuff, acting like my agent/PR person/Legal person etc etc. I can hand over anything when I feel too bored or tired doing it.

4)There are only 0s 1s and 2s used. I just added 2 random numbers and converted them to Ternary. You could practice this trick with some of your friends. Just convert the numbers in any random simple equation into a non-decimal base and ask people to prove it.

5/6) Agreed

  1. It's the intent behind the action that matters. Road to hell is paved with good intentions. But that's because if the ignorance being involved in. An intent to lie is an intent to spread ignorance and ignorance is the root of all negative consequences.

  2. To me it's the absence of need for happiness. A person with a full stomach doesn't have a need for food. A happy person doesn't need happiness. Such people are fulfilled in life and they are the ones who can die with a smile on their face.

  1. I see paradoxes in my life ALL THE FREAKING TIME. In fact, I say that my life operates entirely inversely. I wrote about it here actually: This Is Why I Live My Life Inversely

  2. I would say that it's feeling things. The human mind is made of the same logic that an AI mind will be made of some day.

  3. I'd play out different scenario simulations and see which ones would allow me to grow the most and achieve a state of peak performance.

  4. I could say that "+" means something different than addition and that its actually a symbol that unifies the value of the final product.

  5. I think I'd prefer to be awake so that I could take it all in.

  6. There's probably a lot of fun things you can do when you have a fragile body. I'll live ;-)

  7. Woah that's a brain twister but I think that its all about the intent behind the action.

  8. I'm not sure what it's like to be a pet... maybe we'll find that out when the robots come around. For now, I'm going to Venezuela!

  9. The only dream I've ever had that happened regularly was when I was young and I would dream of my father throwing me up and down in the air. He would like chuck me up 15 feet in the air and catch me. I would wake up cuz I felt the thrill of falling.

  10. Appreciation. What is true happiness? Appreciating what you already have.

Awesome questions @vimukthi! That was fun! I actually created my own brain game post earlier today. I'd love to hear your thoughts!: [INTERACTIVE MIND GAME] This Association Game Will Improve Your Mental Performance And Get You Into A Flow State!

  1. Great way to use it.
  2. Check the answer given by @swissclive There are only 0s 1s and 2s used. I just added 2 random numbers and converted them to Ternary.
  3. I agree. It's the intent that define sin.

Glad you enjoyed. Here is my part 1. I'll try to post one of these each week.

Number 4 is dead easy. I don’t see why three people didn’t get it.

‘102202+1020002= 1122211 Prove that this statement is true.”

Here is the answer starting from the right....
2+2=11
02+02=11
202+002=211
2202+0002=2211
02202+20002=22211
102202+020002=122211
102202+1020002=1122211

For number 8 I would like to be a Russian Hooker. I think they are the most expensive pets you can get here.

Excellent job. You also gave the objectively best answer for Number 8.

@vimukthi. I need your help! I am going to write a post about the altcoin space generally. I will publish it this weekend. I don’t know enough to cover specific alt-coins. But you do. Everybody is going to ask me which coins I recommend. Would you be able to write a blog this weekend about some alt coins? Then if I get questions I can refer them to your blog. What do you think?

I'll try my best. I'm no expert. I'm too much of a perfectionist to call myself an expert. But I do know a thing or two. So go ahead :-)

I'm at a dead end. Your mathematical equation blew up my brain. I can not prove it. How to do it? Good luck to you and kindness.

Я в тупике. Ваше математическое уравнение взорвало мой мозг. Я не могу это доказать. Как это сделать? Удачи Вам и добра.

@cranium. I wrote the proof/ answer below. @vimukthi will no doubt confirm it is correct.

To me shameful to admit, but I 5 minutes disassembled Your answer meanwhile understood as You made it. Thank you for explanatories!

  1. Very hard to distinguish as both brain and silicon has electrical pulses ..

Hardware has lots of similarities. But what about the software?

software communication end of the day happens like the brain signals and CPU signals ... I would say software is more of virtual .. but I think its an over simplification to say so .....

btw, I am also a big fan of the "Architect"

btw, I am also a big fan of the "Architect"

Glad to hear that. Personally I believe the entire creation of computers and programming is an emulation of reality. The only way to build a program successfully is to make it follow the same syntax of reality. Knowing a thing or two about IT has seriously helped me develop both philosophically and spiritually.

Interesting question let me think about it first My next reply would be epic mark my words

Marked them. Waiting for the delivery.

I experience Num.9 so creepy

Your profile pic looks a little creepy. So I'd say your are very well synced with your dreams :-)

  1. I suppose a paradox is when a seemingly impossible thing is apparently demonstrated to happen. Notice I say "seemingly" and "apparently." At least one is always wrong, but it isn't obvious. That is why we see paradoxes.

  2. I'm a theist (a Christian—a baptist). I believe in a mind (soul) separate from the body. However, I believe emotions are chemicals: properties of the body, not the mind. I'm not sure you could say the machine "feels" things, since it doesn't have a mind to actually experience. It's like the Chinese room.

  3. I guess I would have it do my homework.

  4. Is there a typo or is this wrong on purpose? I could try doing an Abbott & Costello thing:

102202+1020002. We begin with the 1,000,000 from the second number. After this comes the 100,000 from the first, making 1,100,000 with 2202+20002 left over. We put in the first three two's and get 1,122,200 with 2+2 left over. Two is 2x1, so we have 1 & 1—ie. 11. When we put this in, we get 1,122,211. QED.

  • The only reason I'd like to die in sleep is because it avoids pain. Since you say there will be none, I'd die awake.

  • Live. I can get most of my life goals done from home.

  • I would say it counts as a lie, even if true. I can't prove it.

  • I would not be an animal. Animals cannot pursue intellectual ventures.

  • I don't remember at all, actually. Possibly. Dreams are illusions, so these places are illusions.

  • Happiness is an emotion, not a metaphysical state (like peace or joy). As such, there isn't really "true" happiness and "false" happiness (unless someone pretends to be happy). Do you mean perpetual happiness? I guess some well treated animals.
