Family trip pt 2

in #blog6 years ago

He next day on our trip marked our first full day!
I woke up around 9 am to get ready for much anticipated family pictures! After I finished getting my self all prettied up...I saw the “change of plans” text. Pics moved back a couple hours. I was both relieved (that I didn’t have to rush to get the boys ready) and annoyed (that I was probably going to spill food on myself or something before we were set to go!)
Grandma made a delicious breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast. She also made “mush”...an interesting dish made from cornmeal, bacon grease, bacon bits...and lots of sodium! Lol...it’s one of my husband’s favorite...and something I never make!
I managed not to mess myself up...and we all headed out to the photo site!
Well...No one had anticipated the interesting weather that was occurring that morning. It was chilly ( not abnormal for the region this time of year) It was also incredibly windy! The photographer’s equipment was blowing all around. Kids were freezing! Teeth were chattering and hair was blowing all around! It was quite an entertaining site I’m sure! I’m honestly curious if they got good shots! I guess we’ll see once they send the proofs!
After the pictures, my husband’s dad wanted to take us to lunch. His aunt volunteered to watch the boys. Her kids are all much younger than my husband (ages 8-15) and they love playing with the boys! The kids were more than excited to go hang out with their cousins again, and we were glad to go to a restaurant without our moderately behaved kids! Lol.
We headed down town to a new pizza joint. The food wasn’t pretty good. We got pizza and wings! I would definitely go back for the wings...crunchy, spicy, saucy and delicious. 2C8BB2E6-2EF5-4ABF-9441-7CDECF8EDAF8.jpeg

We headed to pick up the boys and then back to Grandma’s house! We hung out there for a while...played, socialized and did a little relaxing.
My hubby’s dad invited us out the nearby casino and his step-sister offered to baby sit. How fun! A night out together...gambling, drinks...it was a great time! I spent most of the night on the “Alice in Wonderland” slot machine. Although we lost miserably, it was still very entertaining.

We arrived home around midnight. The boys were sound asleep...and they had dyed Easter eggs! They had a pretty fun evening as well.
I hurriedly set up their Easter baskets and headed off to bed! An early morning/big day was on the horizon! Easter!
