Why it's good to slowdown . "Snail style". Learn it, practice it, use it.

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

It's not a secret that the pace of life only increases, the vortex of affairs is even more twisted into a spiral of endless movement at a speed limit.

To get everything fixed right now.
Children to school, to feed the cat / dog, to pay bills, to wash yourself, to gather thoughts in a heap, to work, to have time for cleaning, to give an attention to relatives / friends / hobbies.
And it's good if the tempestuous pace of modern life allows you to have a hobby!
For many of us there’s no elementary strength and desire for those things.

Sometimes, it seems that all this dance will take me away from this planet and I will get lost in space ... and I imagine how cool it would be! A weightless body is just spinning among the quiet stars (yes, all the laws of science will be missed now and let’s just enjoy the picture), and no traffic jams, no ringing at the wrong time telephones, disobedient subordinates or arrogant bosses ... Only you and the world of silence.

Why not arrange something like this at least once a week in a real life?

I will not talk about traditional meditation, it may not suit everyone.

It would be great to find each one his special and personal form of meditation. Any occupation that will come down a soothing stream of thoughts, that will take away a desire to escape, to Do.

For some it will be just an hour of contemplation of birds, the sea ... of nature. For others- reading, walking, yoga ... whatever! It is good to have a hobby and if it also calms and gives new energy. But this can also be just 10 minutes of silence. When you hear yourself, your breath, your pulse. At such a moment, you can everything a bit in a different way. This reassessment is very useful sometimes.

Scientists have proved that people are very overworked, especially morally and with tones of information nowadays.
Why go to the scientists! Look at your neighbor, at a loved one, or at yourself! How often do you feel that the vessel of emotions or thoughts is full and the explosion is not so far away?
If quite often - then just stop. Whatever you do, slow down.

Think about the snails. They are unhurried and therefore so happy.
Have you ever seen at least one gloomy or nervous snail?
Me neither.

In ancient Egypt, the snail symbolized eternity and fertility, and in medieval Europe - sin and laziness .. Later it became a symbol of modesty. In Islam, the snail symbolizes doubt, in Buddhism - patience, and its shell - frozen time. Https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snail

Just like human nature itself - the symbol of this slow mollusk is very multifaceted. Why, at least sometimes, not to use their pace and let the time freeze just for you. After all, in a kaleidoscope of haste and aspirations, don’t we lose sight of something quite important?

thanks for a great read! Though I have many hobbies I've been feeling as if I was in a timeworp. I recently had to start finding more adventure to take because I felt stuck and I needed to challenge myself. So I definitely understand when needing to switching up your agenda is vital to your well being

I know what you're talking about! A lot of hobbies, things to do , desires and running all the time made me think about moments of just switching my mind
Good to know that i'm not the only one )
