Featured on Friday's: Our steps to 1,000 followers

Hello Steemian friends,

We hope everyone had a great week! We know it hasn't been a great week or month for those crypto investors (like we all are). However, there is always good reason to be happy with STEEM and all its glory! We are doing this post as our friend @michaelluchies did a post about his 2018 goals on Steemit. By the end of the year, he would like to have (a minimum of) 1,000 Steem Power, 1,500 followers and get 100 friends he knows personally to join Steemit. Some great goals, and achievable too! You can read his post here. He did this post back when we were just establishing what we wanted to do with our blog. We have thought about our goals, but we will take baby steps. Nonetheless, we would like to aim high! 

1,000 followers by Wednesday 20th of June (138 days!)

That is quite a task at hand and why that exact date in June? My friends, all will be explained later, but first have a look at our info-graphic about our steps to success of achieving this goal:

It's been over a week since we reached our first milestone of 100 followers and we can't thank you enough for the support we have received. Yet, onto the next milestone - 1,000! 

Why such a specific date - 20th of June?

Good question - we are doing everything by calculating the averages. We took our number of followers (153) and divided it by the number of days being on Steemit (25 days), this would equal to 6.12 new followers per day. Therefore, if we continue the average we would get 1,000 followers by Wednesday 20th of June. This can also by calculated by 1,000 (goal) divided by 6.12 (average), which equals 163.39 days (we rounded down to 163 for a challenge). We started on Monday 8th of January and 163 days from that date is Wednesday 20th of June. 

Everybody likes a challenge

What we like about Steemit, and the reason why we are here, is the sense of a connected community. It is a strong community that will propel Steemit to the moon and beyond! We are not in here to make large sums of money and cash out. As you can see from our wallet, we reinvest all of our payouts and curators rewards back into Steem Power to have more of an impact on our voting power. We will give back to the community and we did reward our first original 100 followers with a small token of gratitude. This is us, we are what it says on the tin. So, this is where it gets a bit more interesting for everyone. Like all of our posts, we are keeping our rewards as Default (50%/50%). We will keep it like that and from today, we will reinvest our SBDs into STEEM and not Steem Power, which we were doing before. Why? Because with that converted SBD into STEEM, we will Power Up - 75% and leave 25% as STEEM. This will be done for every 'Author Reward' we get. This 25% will build up as a 'Reward Pool'. Sound interesting? Still got your attention?

This Reward Pool will be given to one or more of our followers. Here is how it will work:

· If we get 1,000 followers on our deadline date - we will draw and pick one follower from our list to receive the STEEM from the Reward Pool.

· If we get 1,000 followers, 30 days before the deadline - we will draw 30 followers names to share the Reward Pool. You get the gist, 60 days before = 60 followers...137 days (which means getting 1,000 followers by tomorrow) = 137 followers share the Reward Pool.

· If we do not get 1,000 followers before the deadline date - we feel it is only fair to Power Up the STEEM from the Reward Pool to our SP and continue voting for quality content out there! You might get your share that way.  

IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL:

Firstly, before we continue, we aren't asking you to always upvote our content. Upvote, if you like and feel our post deserves it. Do not upvote it to build this 'Reward Pool' to make it more lucrative. From our averages, we feel the 'Reward Pool' could be around 50 STEEM, which could be anything by the time June comes.

That's the other thing, let's say we get to 1,000 followers by 21st of May 2018, which is 30 days before the deadline date. We would take a copy of the 1,000 followers, but we won't do the draw and distribute the Reward Pool until the deadline (20th of June). This would ensure the Reward Pool can reach it's maximum potential. In this example, any new followers during 30 days gap would not be included in the draw as a) we would have taken down the list of the first 1,000 and b) it's only fair for the first 1,000 as its first come, first serve. This is quite an exciting way of going about reaching our goal and hopefully current and new Steemian friends are up for the challenge with us!
