Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 12/29/17> ….so its greed and open mindedness

Yesterday’s edition of the daily dose I posed an open ended question where you the reader got to fill in the blank and from the responses I was dead ass wrong on my assumption. That assumption being that the daily dose column shouldn’t always be about sultnpapper and his clan. Turned out that we only had two takers to jump in and fill in the blanks and start a dialog about their question. That tells me that you are perfectly content reading what I have to say each day.

Out of respect for the two who did jump in we will review where we went on our little excursion. @lifeaef posed the question on people and their open mindedness. He wanted to know why people are only open minded on certain topics where it seems like if you are in disagreement it is considered bad. He’s right too, where is the open mindedness if people consider you “bad” for not agreeing with them? Doesn’t sound very open minded on their part, just because you don’t agree with them that makes you a bad person in their eyes.

My mother used to refer to that as the pot calling the kettle black. When you accuse someone for doing the exact same thing you are doing; it makes you wonder how their brains work. @lifeaef and I are in agreement, and he said it best, “How about I keep my opinion and you keep yours.” Since when does everything in society have to be settled like a basketball game where there is a winner and loser? There are plenty of sporting events that can end in a tie, no winner & no loser. There shouldn’t have to be winners and losers in the discussion of race, religion, gender and sexuality.

@lidac brought her “A” game and she went with an old reliable topic, money and greed. Those are two things that I see all too often running around together. They are almost like an inseparable pair in most cases, and if they happen to be apart from each other, it doesn’t last very long. I don’t think that it is in our DNA to be greedy, I think that it is taught to us by the people who exhibit greed. Sure we all would like to be comfortable but just how many rooms does your house need? There are houses in Houston that have more bedrooms than a small hotel. Lidac brought up corporate greed too, yes that greedy corporation named Apple was an example she gave. Do they really need to slow down the performance of the old i-phones so they can sell more new ones? I guess so, because that is what it is reported that they are doing. Lidac says that Apple’s revenue was over $52 billion, do they really need another billion or two to make sure they get by for another year? Corporate mentality is the more the better, and it shows when you start jacking with your previously sold products so that the consumer will get frustrated and feel the need to spend more of their hard earned money to buy your stuff. She indicated that there are lawsuits underway to address the situation, I hope that the plaintiffs end up taking a big bite out of the Apple.

Shortie just came in to sit with me while I write this dose. She said to tell you all “Hi” and let you know she loves her big bear. She hasn’t come up with a name for her big bear yet, she would like to invite you to offer some suggestions for a name.

I mentioned yesterday that I might do some pimping on Thursday nights; well I forgot all about it last night and ended up in the poker game. Just so you know, the pimping has nothing to do with selling sex. There is a program on Steemit Ramble called “Pimp Your Post Thursday” where you can get on their discord server and promote your blog to other folks on the channel. All was not lost though, I did end up finishing second in the poker tournament and won some SBD for my effort, I think it was around $6 SBD, not sure but somewhere around that amount. If you are a poker player you need to get over there to the Steem Poker League and get an account and start playing. When I started over there the games had about 20 to 30 players in a tourney, the player count is going up every week, last Sunday the count was over 70 players, Thursday night the count was I think 45 or so. Congratulations to @bit , he was the winner of the Thursday night tourney.

Sola.AI is a social platform I mentioned the other day, I did spend some time in their site Thursday and discovered my friend @buttcoins is over there as well, come join us if you get a chance. I haven’t got the hang of it over there yet but I am a slow learner when it comes to technology stuff. I have doubled my Sol in one day so that is a positive; Sol is the cryto for the site. I did come to find out that prior to becoming Sola.AI it was previously called “The Plague”, not sure that I would be over there if it was still the plague. What marketing genius came up with that name? I could just see me telling my wife, “don’t worry Honey I’m just fooling around with a bunch of people who have the plague.’ or how about this one, “there is a meet up in Houston Saturday a bunch of people with the plague and I are going to get together at Little Woodrow’s.”

For those of you who are wondering, the youngest boy and I haven’t gotten to do any fishing yet since Christmas. To damn cold and wet since then, it barely broke 50 on the thermometer on Thursday. Which reminds me, Fair Weather Internet is still only operating above 48 degrees, but I discovered a solution to the problem. It turns out that I have this “hot spot” feature on my phone and so I am able to run my laptop internet connection through my phone. Yes, I am sure you knew about such a thing, but I didn’t have a clue about it until T-Bone, my oldest boy, clued me in. He doesn’t know jack about crypto but he is a little savvier about the technology stuff than the old man.

Well, Shortie fell asleep so I need to put her and this daily dose to bed, see you back here tomorrow.
