Daily Dose of Sultnpapper 01/30/18> So, you want some State Wars do you? Alright then…
The Steemusa group is hosting a friendly competition for it members to promote their states known as “State Wars” well consider me in, but there is nothing friendly in competition and war, so let that be my warning this may get ugly if you know what I mean.
Texas, the Lone Star State, is also known as the Great State of Texas. Since this is a week long competition and I don’t have any idea of what is to come as far as directives so my ammunition and bombs will be used accordingly.![]

Let me just say that Texas is the only state in the USA can fly it’s flag side by side at the same height as the American flag of the USA. So when all you other folks start showing your state flags just remember, you will never be at the level of the Texas state flag. That should be enough right there to show the folks that Texas is special. The fact is there is no need to fly the American flag we have our own beautiful flag, red white and blue with one lone star as evidenced in this photograph.
@chrisroberts showed a picture of his home state with snow everywhere, who in their right mind would want to live in a freezing cold place where even the native animals are smart enough to hibernate?

Georgia checked in via @plastoplanks and offered you sliced peaches on vegan pancakes.

Great post @sultnpapper!! Texas looks like an awesome state to see and I'm with you on "the beef"..although pancakes are good too but I'll have mine with a double side of bacon!
Beef brisket is good for breakfast meat as well, give it a try some time. I like bacon too, but beef is my number 1 choice for food, not just meat.
Heck yeah! Count me in on some of that!!
hahaha - you showed them!!!
goes and hides so you can't find my state!! LOL
Have another beer Marianne, and then show me where you meant to make your comment. I wrote the post and i can't find what you are referencing in "goes and hides so you can't find my state!!"
But thanks for stopping in and dropping a line, I may just have to take you as a prisoner of war, what state are you from? If I take you prisoner do you think they will want you back? If you live in one of the northern states you may like it here in Texas, like being kidnapped and held in a 5 star hotel with room service compared to northern states.
Get back to me on this, or Texas may send a party to capture you.
hahaha - I must be hiding well!!! Can't find me lol.
Prisoner in a 5 star hotel sounds good. Makes me feel like I am part of the Saudi Royals - that is what happened to them. I didn't follow the story so I don't know if they are still there :)
I am from the State Texans seem to hate the most 🤪
California eh, just stay there, we have enough of your people leaving there and wanting to change Texas into CA, east, we don't need or want anything those folks are peddling. If it was so darn good why don't they just stay there is my question to them.
I look for you on the battlefield, keep your head low.
And I'll look for you :)
That's crazy about the flag. I had no idea it was allowed to be flown at the same height! Learn something new every day.
Texas was an independent nation that joined the United States, it was because of that the reason the flag can be flown at the same height.
As an Australian I have no say in these matters, but a favourite guitarist of mine was from the great state of Texas. I speak of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Then there is the comedian Bill Hicks. The list is growing. So you get my vote.
Yes, when it comes, and I'm pretty sure it will, Texas will have pretty healthy list of famous Americans to show case in these state wars. SRV and Bill Hicks will surely be among them, good choices on your part as well.
I'd fuel up on peanut butter and run over there to battle you in person, but I'd probably get detoured in Austin--the vegan capital of Texas. 😂😂
No need to worry about getting detoured in Austin, I am two hours east of there. Yes, Austin is the "capitol" of many things in Texas that is why the city identifies itself using the tag line,"keep Austin weird".
When researching for my post on Texas I found out the below isn't true!
I found that any state flag can fly with the USA flag at the same height gasp I know! As a Texan, since I found this on the internet, I know this can't be true.
Love how you included references to others posts in this one to prove just how superior Texas is!
Yea, you can read anything on the internet but reading the law would be a good place to start.
"When the United States flag is displayed with the flags of states of the union or
municipalities and not with the flags of other nations, the federal flag, which
represents all states, should be flown above and at the center of the other flags.46" as quoted from the Congressional Research Service on Flag Laws Relating to United States Flag.
The Texas flag being a flag of "another nation" gives it equal status to the flying height.
Glad you liked the references, best ammunition in a battle is free ammunition if it is the right caliber for your weapon.

I trust my reading skills more than I trust wikishit, just the way I am.
Cool walk down memory lane for me-- called Austin and surrounding areas "home" for over 20 years... and was a proud part of what "kept Austin weird," although I understand it gets less and less weird as more and more people from outside move in.
Yes, it is getting less weird and more yuppie. Then you also have all the tech companies moving in from California and the west trying to change us into the crap that they left to come here. Where do you call home now?
