This question technically should not have any definite answer because many factors come into play. So the best business may not really be the best for some people due to their skill and capabilities while some may really thrive into it. Nepal is a developing country and has a huge potential. Nepal will keep remaining in developing stage because of the fact that huge number of young enthusiast are going abroad and are not really bringing anything back to the country. While this is bad for the country itself, its and opportunity as well for those who want to do something in Nepal itself.

It was observed that on the basis of ease of doing business, Nepal ranks third in Asia.

Modern Agriculture

I know, you saw this coming right? But not traditional agriculture. The world has gone through phases of technological development for the sole purpose of simplicity in work without consuming lot of time and effort and yet boosting production. Over the few decades Nepal has gone from exporter to importer of agricultural goods. Investment on agriculture have dried up as people starting to move towards cities.
Since the investment on this sector is really lacking it may really be a viable business. By using modern equipment, pesticides and fertilizers one can effectively increase production compared to measly production by traditional ways. Using innvative and scientifically proven techniques one can really succeed in this business. The ultimate goal should not only to supply all over Nepal, one should try to bring back Nepal as exporter of grains and agricultural products.

World is being crowded as the population is exploding at alarming rate, the traditional way for agriculture will definitely not be enough to feed the hungry world. We can boost our production with the limited land resource we have.

  1. Metal plows, tractors, reapers
  2. Pesticides, fertilizers
  3. Hybrid crops
  4. Modern Irrigation Methods.

So Why limit to production of grains and vegetables only ?

Livestock farming and Dairy production? It is the rearing of animals for food and for other human uses. Chickens, buffalo, ducks can be used for eggs and meat puposes. We can also produce dairy products such as cheese, butter, ghee, paneer from the milk we get from the livestock. Modern equipment and techniques helps to create fine products in high scale and quantity. Dairy products have high demand in Nepal itself. So it is a viable business. And like I said earlier exporting should always be the ultimate goal.
