Education System in Bangladesh and Indonesia- Differences
Education is the system of learning which information, competencies, values, notion, and behavior of the group of people are inherited thru storytelling, teaching, dialogue, schooling or research. Any experience that has a formative impact on the way one thinks, feels, or acts may be taken into consideration instructional. However, education all over the world has differences and similarities, especially in Bangladesh and Indonesia. There are three differences that are an academic year, government supply and level of education. Moreover, there are four similarities that are starting education, the language of instruction, number of year before going to university and religion education that is offered.
The first difference is the academic year. Bangladesh education starts on January and ends on December in primary and secondary level. Moreover, in the university every semester the education could be started. On the other hand, Indonesian education starts on August and ends on June in primary and secondary level. In addition, Indonesian university actually starts on September because August is for admission only. Indonesian university is not like Bangladesh's because Indonesian university does not accept student every semester. The Indonesian student must follow the academic year.
The second difference is government supply. Bangladeshi government provides free education in primary and secondary education. It is only in public school. In addition, scholarships are provided for poor or brilliant students. Indonesian government only gives a half of education fee in primary and secondary education. Moreover, the scholarship is only provided for the poor students.
The third difference is the level of education. Bangladeshi students enter primary school at the age of six which has five grades—from I to V. Then, they continue to Junior Secondary Education at the age of eleven which has three grades—from VI to VIII. After finishing this level, they will receive J.S.C (Junior School Certificate) which is useful for continuing their study in Secondary Education. They enter secondary level at the age of fifteen which has two grades—from IX to X. They will receive S.S.C (Secondary School Certificate). After that, they will continue to Higher Secondary Education which is the last education before entering university. In this level of education, they will get H.S.C (Higher School Certificate).
In the other side, Indonesian students enter primary school at the age of six which has six grades—from I to VI. After finishing this level of education, they will receive a certificate of graduation. Then, they continue to Lower Secondary School at the age of twelve which has three grades—from VII to IX. The students will receive two certificates. The first certificate is the certificate of completion of Junior Secondary Education. The second is the certificate of graduation which is obtained from passing the National Examination. Both of these certificates are useful for continuing the study to upper secondary education. In upper secondary education, the students are around the age of sixteen. After finishing and passing the exam, the student will receive two certificates—secondary school certificate of completion and certificate of graduation. @Continue
