400 followers today - thank you Steemit!
To say that Steemit has changed my life might sound cheesy but that is exactly what has happened.
For years I posted my films tirelessly on Youtube, promoting my work through a multitude of social media platforms, always trying to push the number of Youtube followers up to a level where I could make some kind of income from it. Yet, the most I ever made was $5 in a month.
Then I discovered Steemit and not only has it given me a solid income, more valuable perhaps in Thailand than in the UK, but it has opened the doorway to a whole new world - Cryptoworld!
Today I am playing with over $1000 in the crypto markets which was created from nothing more than Steemit posts.
For the last month I have been cloud mining BTC through a number of different sites, currently earning around $1 a day.
I have 6,000 Steem Power
It won't be too long before I hit rep 70.
I buy my phone credit and much of my food using Bitcoin, bought with Steem.
And in a few weeks I will be putting on a Steemit Training Day for Indonesia here in Bali.
All in all, am feeling pretty happy about Steemit and all the new friends it has found me. Especially in my Steemit motivated FB group, Aspiring Steemit Whales & Dolphins where you are more than welcome to join us.
It must be almost 9 months since I started my account here and I can honestly say that I have really enjoyed this ride. Way more than what I was doing before!
This number is particularly important to me because it is the number of followers I was able to achieve on Youtube after years of pushing myself to painfully engage on numerous social media sites. Now that I have more Steemit followers than Youtube followers I am watching and waiting for the birth of a decentralised video hosting site which uses the Steem blockchain ...and pays out Steem & Steem dollars for quality films!

Also thanks for the Facebook group... I suppose it's testament to the "stickiness" of Steemit that I don't spend a whole lot of time on Facebook anymore... just enough to let those who know me "there" know that I haven't died in some gutter, somewhere!
Now that the whole HF17 (and 18!) issue seems to have settled, I look forward to bringing more new people to the community.
Thanks very much for your kind words. Yes, the interesting thing about steemit is that it seems to work best for those who are kind to others.
I started the FB group as a transitional tool to move people from one platform to another, also with the intention of enlarging the steemit community. I had hoped to see all my friends and family migrating with me, but instead found a bunch of new friends :)

Yep I am on YT so I know exactly what you are talking about. Its a hard game on there. I have over 800 videos spanning 5 years, yet it is still a struggle.
