Characters: Stan Lee (1922/2018).

This is the first of a new series of articles based on great characters in the story, with little information about his life and little-known curiosities. I wanted to start with a great scientist, Albert Einstein, but I have left it aside when knowing the sad news that Stan Lee had died, so I want to dedicate this post as a small tribute.

Born in 1922, son of Jewish immigrants from Romania. At just 17 years old, in 1940, Stan began working at Timely Comics (which would later be re-founded as Marvel Comics), two years later he was already editor-in-chief. In these years the comics were not very well seen by the society in fact Stan claimed that he began to sign as Stan Lee as a pseudonym for pain to be remembered as a comic writer since he had planned in the future be a serious writer, but years Later he would change his name to Stan Lee legally.
Luck, the best super power of all (According to Stan Lee).
Stan was always very kind and attentive with his fans, he stopped and listened to the fans when they asked him questions about his characters, in an interview he gave to the BBC news network in 2005, he was asked what the fans were they asked him more often and Stan answered that the most common question was which is his favorite super power, the answer is Luck.
"Every time I go to a comic book convention, at least one fan asks me: 'What is the greatest superpower of all?' I always say it's luck, because if you have good luck, everything is fulfilled "

Excelsior!
This was his flagship phrase, his personal signature Excelsior! Originally in his comics he had a column called Stan's Soapbox and he always finished his texts with different phrases like "Until next time, gang, hang loose!", This practice was copied by his competitors so he decided to create a unique phrase that would distinguish him, that phrase was Excelsior an English expression that means "Upward and Onward to Greater Glory!".
Revolutionary heroes (and not because of their super abilities).
When Stan started writing comics, usually the good ones were good and the bad ones, the bad ones, there were no gray tones. From there comes one of the reasons for its success, the characters created by Stan had problems of ordinary people, from things as normal as dandruff or acne to more difficult subjects, for example Hulk fought against drug addiction, Thor against religious fanaticism and Iron Man against alcoholism. His characters broke the stereotypes of "heroes" Daredevil was blind, Black Panther was black, Silver Surfer reflected on the state of humanity and Northstar confessed his homosexuality.
"Just because he is a hero and has super powers does not mean he has no problems"
Stan Lee interventions.
His short and often humorous appearances in the Marvel movies are well known, but they are not the only ones where he has left his mark, he served as narrator in the animated series Incredible Hulk and appeared as himself in Spider-Man: The Animated Series He was also seen on TV series such as Agents of SHIELD, Agent Carter, Daredevil, The Big Bang Theory, The Simpsons and Nikita; even in video games as the narrator in Spider-Man (2000) and Spider-Man 2: Enter Electro (2001), as well as in The Amazing Spider-Man and LEGO Marvel Super Heroes. He has been in productions of Fox, Sony, Universal, Disney and Marvel Studios.
----
His superpower, humility.
If there was something that characterized Stan's personality was his humility, every person that I work with attests to it, one of the greatest examples of this is that he never take protagonism away from his collaborators giving them the credit he deserved for his work. , Jack Kirby, Frank Miller, John Romita and others eventually achieved their own cult status.
