My first reward in 7 days
Yay I got an author reward!
It's a small one, but atleast it's something! I'm still pretty sad about losing not only most of the rewards from my two running posts during the new hardfork, but also about losing the rewards from the 30 days period posts. I'm not sure if it couldn't be helped (I kind of doubt it), but maybe it wasn't a must have kind of thing. At first I thought it would get fixed somehow, but I guess not. The aftermath of low payouts during this first month was also not something I was expecting. I guess we'll just need to get past this, move on from it and be happy the rewards are starting to flow again.
We'll slowly get back to what we were used to and this will just be a bad memory. Maybe (hopefully) yet again an experience to learn from.
I know we're in beta, but Steemit already has a nice amount of very involved users and I feel the least that could have happened was some clear communication right here on this site. I don't want to be negative, I just talk about this with the hopes that this will be picked up as a point of improvement. To retain users, they must be taken seriously, which means keeping them updated on things that concern them. Losing rewards concerns them.
Anyway! Bad experience out of the way. Thoughts thrown out. Rewards are flowing again (slowly). Summer is on its way. What more could a girl ask for? Besides a clear head that is... stupid burnout taking forever. Oh and a new computer so I can actually run lightroom and photoshop again... maybe a macro lens...
Ehm, where was I? Oh right, rewards are back, yay!

The drop in rewards could have been avoided, it was a design choice.
Still, it's good to hear some Steem is dripping your way again! Not dripping, steam doesn't drip, but you know what I mean.
A design choice not many people agree with! Oh well, there must be some logic behind it somewhere...

That, my friend, is a very good question! To be honest with you, I didn't realize that claim rewards thingy was there yet until you just pointed it out. I hope it's not time sensitive, but I went ahead and clicked it, just to be sure :-)
Perhaps it's just intended to reduce transactions on the network by pooling multiple rewards into a single transfer.

Rewards weren't transactions before. Since they were previously virtual, this increases transactions. However it improves scalability in other ways, by making it easier to parallelize.
It could also cut down on un-monitored bots building SP.

A few tiny bits and pieces from old 30-day posts are starting to dribble in for me. Later today I should get a few cents from a post that had pretty good rewards before it reset to zero, with a couple of hours to go on the old 24-hour clock.
It's a shame all of those rewards got reset aswell. I'm sure there are people here who are losing a lot more because of this. Oh well, we can't do much about it now!

Whats with the "Claim Rewards" button now, what happens if I don't click it? Is there a deadline?
I have no idea! I only saw it yesterday. I'm not sure if anyone has writen any information about it yet...

Thank you. I can get over the loss in rewards, I just hope communication will improve in the future. This time, they just left a lot of people guessing. Even now, we're wondering what this Claim rewards thing is about and how it works. I'll need to research this, because I haven't read anything about it yet.
I agree, again, communications here are not good at times on many levels, this is not rocket science and if you speak out, the suck ups connected to the top people just turn on you, I have found.

Bah, I feel normal conversation should not cause any problems! We all want this platform to work, so whenever someone speaks out, it's mostly for the good of the platform.
That's how I feel, but the power structure here and all the top few people have centralized the power and influence like elsewhere -- and most of them do not like dissenting questions or opinions, it has been shown clearly...
That's such a shame. I have to admit, I don't have much experience with Steemit 'politics'. I notice some friction between people sometimes, but that's about as far as my knowledge goes. It's sad to hear there isn't always a sense of community higher up in the chain.
Too many people will say nothing and play favourites. So they can stay on side w the power brokers and fortunes..... You are right it is sad.
