Foodie writing to you from the past - second and last

Oops, that rhymes!

Today is the 18th of july.

I am still without internet, so yet again, I'll have to write and save for later.

Yesterday was more eventful than planned. After writing my previous blog and creating some designs, I crawled back onto the couch to read some more. Yes inside, because outside was hot, even in the shade.

My brother has been sick now for a couple of days. He's all alone in his house, seeing as his girlfriend is back in Sweden, so mum's making sure to stay in contact. He had called her during the night with lots of stomach ache and back ache. After some examination during that same night, it didn't turn out to be life-threatening and he eventually ended up with some medicine. During the day on tuesday, the doctor came over to examine him and told him it's probably too much acid in his stomach. My brother now has to call every day to check in with the doc and he got some medicine and diet advice.

That's where we come in. Mum texted me yesterday that he was still feeling pretty horrible and hardly had any food left inside the house. Seeing as we live closest to him (drive takes a little over an hour with no traffic), she asked if we could head over there once hubby was home from work to get him some food.

So I checked in with hubby, who was okay with it, and then I checked in with my brother about the diet advice. Hubby came home and we quickly headed out the door to try and beat some of the traffic. There were some slow parts and a little bit of standing still, but hubby said we probably were ahead of most of the traffic jams.

We went to the store, gathered the stuff for my brother and got both of us a salad and then headed over to my brother.

Once we were there, he immediately ate one of the bananas we brought. He hadn't eaten for a day or two, afraid of being in even more pain. The poor guy is already way too thin, so this doesn't help! I made him some fresh mint tea and grabbed two forks so hubby and I could have dinner.

My brother was feeling pretty weak due to the lack of food and all of the pain. His neck ached aswell, so basically any position he'd put himself in hurt. He hadn't slept much at all either, so I hope he'll feel a little better soon. Sleep's important to heal!

After dinner and a little chat, we headed back home, seeing as we couldn't do much else for him and he was tired.

We watched one Supernatural episode and then it was time for bed.

Oh yes, busy day for hubby and traffic, combined with unfamiliar roads, was sometimes frustrating, but I'm happy we headed over there for my brother. Hubby also told him to call whenever he needed help and we'd head straight back over there.

Although the drive there is still over an hour, I'm glad we live atleast a little bit closer. From where mum lives and where I used to live, the drive would take over two hours, so this is a big improvement. He's as far away from me as mum is now. Both not really close enough, but I'm right in the middle, and it's do-able. I am happy hubby drives most of the time though!

Well, that was our eventful yesterday. Today started slow for me again. Woke up with hubby, did laundry when he left and then I sat outside with my tea and a good book. Did a few other small chores and had lunch outside. Now I've locked myself inside, because it's starting to get pretty warm again. I'll gather the soon-to-be-dry laundry before hubby gets off from work, because we'll head straight back over to his dad afterwards. Dinner there with the family and then we'll return home. Mum will probably be here by then! She's having a spa day with a friend fairly close-by, so she's sleeping over here and spending some time with me tomorrow. We'll have to stay home in the morning though, waiting for the specialist who'll hopefully come and fix our internet.

Anyway, back to my book!

Thank you @immarojas, I'm happy to say he's doing much better now :-)

That's good to know! What a relief for you☺

I hope your brother is feeling better (since you wrote this on the 18th) and that you now have your internet sorted @playfulfoodie. 😊

He is feeling much better now @gillianpearce, thank you! The internet is sorted as much as it can be for now, we're still hoping to get a 4g connection to complement this crappy one though :D

I hope you get your internet back ...

Thanks! I wrote that when we still had internet problems and I couldn't post. Gladly we have internet now, which is how I managed to post this blog :D

Too much acid? Maybe try a alkaline water to counteract the acid... still, that seems abnormal, maybe he has too much stress and that is why he is overproducing acid...

Stopped watching supernatual a while back, right after god disappeared with his sister, is it any good after that?

He has plenty of problems, so I'm sure those have had a bad effect on his stomach. I'm still hoping he can get himself back on track with the help he's getting now. Atleast his health has improved since I wrote this blog :-)

That is exactly the last episode of Supernatural I've watched too! I have the next season on dvd, but I'm waiting to watch that until hubby catches up with me, so re-watching the old ones with him first. I love the show and am happy he's enjoying it so much too!
