Local Food Haul Plus Project Update
Half way through August already, only a couple of weeks until Spring Time. It has been dry here for many weeks and it is starting to show through in the produce at the markets.
There are some big fires in the area, I am concerned at the extreme winter temps. I fear this will be a long hot summer. What passes for our spring time will only last a week or so and then the heat will come.
It might be a very long dry spell until the storms start in November, that's my guess anyway. I'd love to be wrong though, some early spring rains would do much to freshen up the landscape!
The next two weeks should see some balance return to my days, I hope at least. The piles of boxes and furniture and building materials everywhere are beginning to grate on every ones nerves. This renovation project should finish up and I can get all our gear sorted out and move into the new room. thank goodness, sigh.
Then it will be on to the garden project funded by @greenacrehome 's generous contest winnings. I'm very excited for that to happen. I'll also be reorganising a couple of the other winter veggie patches at the same time, busy busy busy. The gardening is much better for my body that the building at least. :-)

Do you buy it at a farmers market? Maybe you could do some profiles on the local producers at the market. It would make an interesting post and a way of introducing people to steemit.
Some years ago I was involved in an 'Eat Who You Know' project where you made connections with local food producers and only bought food from people you knew.
This is in the "medium term plan" box. I've thought of it for a while. I hope to get to it though

I hope the fires end but how is that possible when you have so many months of no rain? You only have a week of spring? That is crazy. Good luck on your renovation projects. How is toothless doing? Well I hope. : )
There are lots of fire breaks and the firefighters do back burns. Usually keeps them out of harm's way.
It kind of goes from not Hot to Hot.
I'll try to get a post up about the renovation today, I hope.
Toothless is doing well, he's helping with the reno until he needs a nap anyway... Back to the vet this week for a check up. Thank you for stopping by :-)
