Back In The Garden Again ~ One Month Of Winter Left
One Month Of Winter Left
Today I've been getting back into the swing of the garden a little. Things are looking good for the most part.
This is my guild pot, started out with lettuce, radish, peas, silverbeet and tomato seeds. We've eaten the radish and peas already and currently harvest leaves from the lettuce and silverbeet while waiting for the tomatoes. One yummy and productive pot!
I've put a makeshift bamboo tomato cage in my guild pot and the cherry tomatoes, lettuce and silverbeet are doing very well all jammed in there together. I think they've honestly had the least predation from aphids, caterpillars and the dreaded locusts.
While trellising the cherry tomato I've struck some of the stronger side shoot prunings around the garden, it will be good if they take but mostly they are on their own, aside from the general care that the beds get.
I've made a mix of Mancozeb Fungicide and Magnesium Sulphate to treat the Blueberries and the kumquat tree. Hopefully that will rectify the troubles they are currently suffering.
I've put it in charge of the blueberry bush!
My dad has been helping to partially restore my old dinning set to sell and we turned up some new knobs on the Lathe over at Men's Shed this morning.

@overthewait
What are you waiting for?
Looks really great Byran. Thanks for the pics. The mens' shed... is that a formal club or just an informal bunch of mates? I've heard of these clubs being very beneficial but have never known anyone who was a member.
Keep up the good work!
G'day mate, thanks for dropping by, men's shed is a state wide organisation for local groups to get together it's tied with the men's health initiative I think. Most regional town's have one. My dad joined up and he loves it. They might even be Australia Wide. Check out the link if you find time.

I like working with my hands too. Good job on the dining table. I hope you sell it. :)
Thanks, so do I both the working with my hands and the selling of stuff, we sure could use the extra space! Have a great day :-)
Minimalism is what I like. Kudos for learning to let go of stuff! So many people I know have a hard time letting go of things they no longer need. Have a great day too! :-)
nice looking knobs though I prefer peppermint knobs ;) your potted plants look great sir love the pictures thanks for sharing.
How about a knob of cheese? I could go some nice cheese and pepperoni about now. Thanks for stopping by, I keep missing you over on slack. Have you made another post? Or more bread?
I've got me some rotten timing over there lol I keep popping in just as the topics die down it seems :( I"ve not made bread in just over two years the kitchen is not mine and I don't pay for the electric so I don't bother :( that's why I sorta complain in the contest what homestead happiness is :P cheese and pepperoni sound good indeed but at the time of my posting I wanted sugar :P lol
