Random Ramble on a Friday (networking on steemit)

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

It's been a strange week. A was so triggered all week. A head my headache my ear was bugging me. But the strange thing  a was doing good at work. Got the answer  back from my boss on my having a job in the winter and a do have it. maby fund a new flat a can move in to in desember is 10 min from work instead of 1.30min so.  and everything was good just out of the blue a whet on a bike ride to Stanley park with some friends from work no problems there. So way do a feel like something is wrong.

forest fire in Canada the city is just covered in smoke

So what is new. A yes networking yes a sad it. am making a game here on steemt and am been working on getting players and it's so difficult so am been joining all this difrent dicorde grupes and going in the the chatting room but a cant say anything a feel like i'm in the way.

A have nothing to say to all this people in there. And all my ides are just stupid and am not important and so before a say anything a have decided the are going to say now.

It's just down to me trusting me self to be inporten..and is noting wrong to get a no. a need a shit ton of time to feel am OK in a space, like with my friends from work a been working there fore 4 months and now a feel OK with going on a bike ride with them.

these is one "bird" lake on my way from work a stop here sometimes its a nice please. even in smoky Vancouver

So the game is not the most important anymore. A really want it to work and am going to work hard, but a have a bigger fish now. Make friends online.so a can use it outside the in the real world.   My trust is like a is cube a need to smelt it before a feel safe. But in most in most cases a dont have the time to do so. So in the end am just choose loneliness over finding friends.

here on steemit a see all the people going after up votes like its no tomorrow. a vill not say no to it but, my life is more inporten then some cent here and there.  and this is way a love steemit so much is has made all the possible fore me like a have almost every weeks sins January made a random Rambel. like every time a do so my self-confidence grows

@darklands is going online in 2 days. its still time to jone. the first wave.

I came to your post because @vikibg-ventures featured you in the Pay It Forward Curation contest

Hi @norwegianbikeman. Stopped by since @viking-ventures mentioned you.

It's great about the job. I think if you try networking a little here on Steemit it will definitely help. There are a few gamer groups that are always looking for new games.

I understand the smoke too Colorado seems to be toasted. We've had 3 fires in our county in the past 2 months. Everyone sounds like they have their noses pinched or stuffed up:( Sadly one the largest fires. The Holy Fire in California is the area I grew up. (Both sides of the mountain) Thankfully everyone I know has been smart and evacuated early.

I can't be too fancy like @viking-ventures. My grandparents actually refused to teach me Norwegian :( It was a 'household' rule passed down from their parents when they moved to the US. The kids were not allowed to speak Norwegian until they learned English, however their kids were not to be taught. They felt it was wrong. I don't have any relatives left that knew them so I don't know why they thought it was wrong. Just most of the grand kids which were my aunts and uncles said they'd get 'throttled' if the spoke anything other than English.

My grandmother never learned Swedish either - it wasn't really allowed. (My grandmother had to have letters translated for her.) I ended up with a Swedish book in high school and started teaching myself. The bad thing is that the Swedes don't tend to pronounce all their syllables whereas Norwegian is much more straight forward - from my experience anyway.

I still have to handle some Swedish to talk to my cousins, but I understand that I write it with a "Norwegian accent."

as a Norwegian we understand Swedish very easy the writing and spoken. but the Danes...oooo boy its a different story. :)
u are form over there or your family is?

When I was trying to decide which language to concentrate the most on, I learned that Norwegian was most easily understood between the three countries - and also easier to learn. And yeah, I've heard about those Danes... (My relatives live in Blekinge, so there some Danelaw influence there anyway.)

Mormor was Swedish - though it was her parents who emigrated in the 1930s (from the Skåne/Blekinge region) and built the house I spent the best part of my growing up in. They also brought two birch trees with them, one which is still growing in Svensen, Oregon.

My mothers farfar was Danish coming from the Ringkøbing area and a little north.
My mothers farmor was the Norwegian one coming from Sogn og Fjordane - the family was with the Mel farm - strange thing because my brother's kindergarten teacher had the surname Mehl, and since learning more about our ancestry, I have to wonder if we're related...

Trivia point - if my health were a bit better - I'd qualify for all three TV shows - Alt for Norge, Allt for Sverige and Alt for Danmark!

@tryskeleyes the smoke its interesting in a horribly way. after the post it become way more. to day a felt the "smell" in the air. but it will pas. a bit strange most likely the did want u to be very good in English.

takker for komentaren og stikke inom :)

That hopefully the smoke will pass soon. I know I wish it would here. I am thinking that is the case. My grandmother mentioned at one time her father said it was because they were no longer in Norway, the needed to adapt to their new country. Her mother had it the hardest from what I remember her telling me and one of the main reasons they moved to the US is she was Swedish. I guess back then Nords and Swedes did not mix. That would be mid to late 1800s.

And you're very welcome for the comment :D Yeah I cheated

Hang on in there... Don't stress too much. "Chasing votes like there's no tomorrow." - One day someone will make a song out of that!

PS: I've found your post after reading @viking-ventures's entry for the Pay It Forward Contest

thanks for stopping by..:)
lol yes on the song...just by not doing it make the stay here so much better.

Hey man, I’ve been following your posts for quite a while now and I see that we have some really similar patterns when it comes to depressive thought. It’s so easy to get demotivated by those negative directions the mind takes, but from what I’ve seen you are still powering through and making shit happen! It’s tough to gain traction online, but that’s not a reflection of your value. Not being seen can hurt but that doesn’t mean your content lacks quality. Keep working at it & the persistence will pay off. Sometimes in ways you don’t expect :)

Thanks :)

Congratulations! I liked you post so much that I included it in my entry to the Pay It Forward Curation contest this week.
As such, I am following you. I have also upvoted and resteemed this post. Keep up the great work!

I'm sorry that I'm coming here and your post is already 7 days old :(

My husband and I lived in Vancouver for most of our lives and I always found it such a difficult place to make friends! The winters always drove me crazy too .... all that rain, so we up and left 1+ years ago and came to Mexico instead :) The smoke I'm sure hasn't helped there either!

I'm a member of a lot of Discord groups but am not a fan of blah blahing on them all the time. So here's what I did: Join a group, be active and chatting in the beginning to make some "friends", but visit their posts so they remember you better, then slowly back away from chatting on discord, but continue to "check in" and of course regular check in's on their posts.

Trust yourself. You have plenty of good things to say.

I almost forgot; I'm one of the judges in the Pay if Forward contest where @viking-ventures featured you. Please consider joining us with an entry of your own next week; it's a great group of people there!

I am pretty bad at the Discord thing too. Crazy since I was on Discord a long time before I was on Steemit. One on one conversations are just so much easier for me than trying to converse with a group.
One of the things that helped me start making more friends here is the @pifc. I started doing that a couple times every month. I met a lot of people that way.
I also found that I do better in the Discord rooms where I already know a few of the people.
Glad to hear the job is going better and you are riding some. Maybe you can get into a closer place to work before it gets too cold.

planing to move in a few weeks. a lot of things ned to fall in to place now it stressing me out..but all good. ty on the comment :)

Gusto saludarte @norwegianbikeman, llegue a tu post porque @viking-ventures, selecciono tu post para el concurso Pay It Forward Curation. Si gustas estas invitado cordialmente a participar

am not super good in different language. but thanks anyway

I really love this post. It's so authentically you and your Norwegian accent comes through loud and clear, yet we can understand you perfectly.

Sorry to hear that it's so smoky in Vancouver, BC, again this year. It's been bad down on the Oregon coast as well from what I've been hearing. Not so bad here in Wyoming, but enough to make my poor husband cough and hack as he works on tires all day. I am looking forward to the change of seasons to cool us down again and pull the smoke out of the skies faster.

Beste hilsen!

:)..... a was here in Canada last year to. it was smoky then to but not like this. to day it was more then ever. ye hope it done soon. its sad not to see the mountains.

Thanks on the mention in Pay It Forward
