500 Ranking on The Steem Monsters Leaderboard - What I've Learned So Far
Hey everyone!! I'm absolutely obsessed with Steem Monsters. It's safe to say that this is one of my favorite games!
It's so addicting and fun to build a team and see how it performs against various matchups and then iterate changes and put them out into the battlefield once again!!
I just hit 500 rating on the leaderboard and I'm pretty happy about that!!
My rating is the number in parentheses (522 as of my last matchup).
Something that I learned from playing the game and ranking up is that you need to have a balanced team. You can't have too much ranged and you can't have too much melee.
Additionally, when you get higher in ranks, people have higher level cards and if you want to compete, you have to level up your own cards which may involve you going to the market and buying max level cards.
It's an interesting dynamic and I feel like it's a fantastic way to drive value to each individual card. I have a feeling that as adoption for the game grows, people will be more and more interested in going to the market to buy their favorite max level cards.
Demand for these things is going to grow even more and I can't wait for more people to hop on this SM train, it's so fun!!

I'm having a lot of fun with SM. I needed to buy some cards in order to raise in the rankings, now in silver. Game definitely shows some potential, could become big.
Me too! It's honestly so fun, I couldn't have imagined that it would be this fun.
It really makes me excited for the future of the game and the Steem blockchain. If this is what's possible now, imagine what the blockchain and Steem Monsters could look like 12 months or 36 months from now. Exciting times!
Yeah, I've noticed that the only way to really be competitive above 400/500 rating is to level up your cards.. People with max level cards are very strong!
