I don't think he likes that you took his picture, look at his expression, :-) Believe or not, I even see people drive and text at the same time on school ground too!
People are oblivious to the world around them sometimes. I do not think he was looking at me, I saw him coming so I was already looking through the camera and just let him pass my point of view. So I did not really look like I pointed my camera at him
I think absorbed in the phone!
Hahaha He's going to crash. I'm jealous I don't know ride bicycle. You have a nice photography eye.
He survived this time. Thanks!
Glad to know haha
I just look at your position and will be interested in participating in the next challenge. @juliank thanks
Cool, looking forward to your photography, good luck and have fun :)
I remember one guy around his 50's had been riding a bicycle and talking on the phone. He had fallen down and knocked unconscious. An older woman got to him first and was already calling an ambulance, when I arrived I picked the mans phone from the ground and tried to talk in the phone.. in English, because the man who fell down was a foreigner.
I had to tell them that the person on the bike fell down and we have called an ambulance, but he seems to be somewhat OK as I didn't see any blood coming out from the head etc. and told them to go and see in the hospital as soon as he gets there.
He woke up soon, luckily he had only hurt his arm and was quite clear in the head when the ambulance came. Lucky for him we have quite good health care system in Finland and I guess he won't meet any extreme costs for needing an ambulance.
The photo and the title just reminded me of this story. Seriously, please try to avoid using the phone when you are riding a bicycle.
Oh wow he got off good. Thank you for sharing this story @apsu, it confirms what I am trying to convey
Well it is important for people to remember you can actually get hurt if you don't be careful. It's safer than in a car but still..
You can even walk under a car if you focus on your phone while walking outside. A dangerous addiction.
@juliank - I recently learned about the "Dutch Reach". A technique that instructs motorists to open their car door using the hand furthest from the handle. It naturally twists the body and makes the driver more aware of cyclists, potentially saving injury and lives. We should export the Dutch Reach everywhere! ^^
That is really interesting, to be honest I have never heard of that myself
This is nothing yet, in Thailand they play their smartphones while riding their motorbikes.
I noticed a similar pattern in Beijing, they must not value their lives so much it seems
25.000 deaths a year in traffic and about 75.000 wounded (total estimate I think) . I've seen total madness when it comes to safety. The amount of people walking around with fall scares is scary.
Are those statistics from your country? It is such a waste of human life, traffic accidents
Just dont multitask while operating any "machinery" haha
Solid advice!
oh great post juliank i love this post and give u upvote and follow _get back best off luck
Good advice as title 👍
Phone addicts beware!!!!😁 (I'm talking to my self )
Safety first ;p
Yes 🙈
Cuz it's the city of bikes!
