Thoughts for the day. Trump/Putin and trying to live outside the Matrix

in #blog6 years ago

It's all getting very surreal now. The fact that we are living inside a sort of Matrix that isn't based on reality is becoming more and more obvious by the day.

"War is peace.
Freedom is slavery.
Ignorance is strength"

Oh, I forgot, there's one more.

"Would is wouldn't."

Regardless of what Trump did or didn't say, the most important part of his speech (to me) was the following line.

“I would rather take a political risk in pursuit of peace, than to risk peace in pursuit of politics”.

There was also that part of the press conference, where Putin accused Hilary Clinton of receiving $400 million of Russian money, but oddly, that isn't really being reported, although there is an investigation going on that has yet to provide a shred of evidence that Trump colluded with the Russians. Move along, there's nothing to see here. Hilary Clinton isn't really the evilest woman ever to walk the planet. It's Trump !!!

It was surprising to see the Michael Moore playing the patriotism card following Trumps meeting with Putin. I left George Galloway's comment to his post in the screenshot as I think it sums up Michael's tweet better than I can. Michael Moore actually made a movie about how the US intelligence agencies lied to get the United States into Iraq and now he is accusing Trump of treason and saying he should be in chains for casting doubt on the United States intelligence agencies. These people really must be living in an alternative universe.

Don't get me wrong, I think Trump is a puppet just like the rest of them but when, instead of bombing countries like previous Presidents, he meets with their leaders and talks about peace, even if it is some sort of ruse designed to lull me and everyone else into a false sense of security, it's still better than refusing to meet leaders and instead choosing to bomb their countries. If Trump had been in power back in 2011 instead of bathhouse Barry Obama, perhaps Libya would still be a functioning state with the highest living standards in Africa instead of the failed state it is now.

When are sufficient numbers of people going to wake up to the obvious fact that the entire world order depends on the world being in a perpetual state of war? We continue down the same, well-trodden path of insanity where the United States tax payer still believes that a defence (actually attack) budget of $700 billion dollars is justified while millions of Americans struggle to survive. It is absolute insanity, yet it continues.

How is it possible that when Trump talks about peace and good relations with Russia or North Korea, he is accused of treason? How can someone like John Bolton be the United States national security advisor? How can British people march against Trump in London and genuinely believe that the United Kingdom is in some way morally superior to the United States or that Terry May is morally superior to Trump? Are British people really that unaware of what their own government has done and continues to do?

Once the answer to those questions is answered and the brainwashing is no longer effective, perhaps we will see peace, but right now, the levels of ignorance are at mindblowing levels. People are still being distracted and entertained by bread and circuses, divided and ruled, tricked into supporting things that if they knew the truth they would never support and in fact fight against.

The tide is turning slowly but as it does, the people who depend on our ignorance to keep their power take steps to ensure that as few people as possible wake up to how the world really works. Twitter, YouTube and Facebook controlling the narratives and shutting down or shadow banning those who try to expose the truth. Google using algorithms and allowing sites like Snopes to decide what is fake news. Amazon banning books.

Thankfully there are more people than ever using alternatives to the mainstream media (such as Steemit) to get the word out but if the people I speak to on a daily basis are anything to go by, there is still a lot of work to be done.

Thanks for reading.

Stay safe

Jim
