WHEN AND WHY IS A BLOG NEEDED

People often get confused on when it’s necessary to get a personal blog and the importance of owning one. Even as a content creator I have found myself asking and trying to get convinced to create my own blog.

WHAT EXACTLY IS A BLOG?

Blog is a slangs originated from weblog. It is an online diary or journal used by an individual or a group to communicate information and share. Blogs usually have specific categories that the topic is centered on, like a story blog, news blog, fashion blog, food blog, e.t.c Blogs entail header, content area, side bar, comment box, footer , advert space and contact page.

WHEN AND WHY YOU SHOULD OWN A BLOG

PASSION :- If you have a niche you are so passionate about, you can create a blog. Passion is a good enough drive to run a blog. By blogging on what you are passionate about, you get to express yourself and get feedbacks from like minders, in the cause of blogging you become more informed, others can learn from you and get entertained.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP :- As an entrepreneur you need a blog to communicate effectively with your customers and potential customers, create detailed content on the goods and services you render, get feedback and showcase your work. It gives you more publicity via search engine, helps you shape your vision and become a better entrepreneur, makes your customers have confidence in you, etc..

PROFESSSIONALISM :- AS an expert you can share your knowledge, ideas and experiences via a blog. Blog increases the reputation of the professional, makes you stand out, gives you a larger audience, recognition and cheap popularity. It is a good way to promote your company and draw attention to your company website.

You must have observed that I didn’t mention money making in any of the blogging benefits, it doesn’t mean that blogging can’t be monetized, most blogs are a good way to make money but having that in mind or making it the sole aim of your blog will most likely lead to failure. In other to run a blog successfully, you should be more concerned about what you can offer than you will benefit.
