Overpopulation, humanity's next great challenge

in #blog6 years ago

Human overpopulation has been a determining factor for our survival, and for all the achievements of humanity. Naturally, the larger the population of a species, the greater its likelihood of success, and we have been a clear example of this. But not everything usually goes well all the time, in the case of human overpopulation, it has caused an endless number of both problems and benefits, maintaining a balance with two equally relevant weights, but the heavier side is determined by whoever is looking at the balance. The global problems of overpopulation are quite serious, real and worrying, however, not everyone is affected equally, and this is why, although it is a real problem, it represents a subjective issue.

Starting from the beginning of civilization, when humanity no longer needed to face threats other than those posed by other humans, it began a process of struggle for domination, control and power, fueled by the ambitious thirst of the man who since always wanted to have more than he needed. In this way, the different wars that history tells us were fought, and during this whole process overpopulation was a fact. The great magnitude of people who gradually required much more resources, fed the imagination of man and progressively found the solutions required in the various areas of health, food, housing, and entertainment.

The great demand from the human population has given way to incredible inventions, yet many unresolved problems, such as famine, poverty, individualism, and global warming, are still latent. The intensity of the social problems caused by overpopulation varies from region to region, and there are areas that have found ways to cope with it or provide a solution. But as humanity continues to grow day by day, these problems will intensify, and any solution implemented will only delay the consequences.

There is a real problem with overcrowding, so a real solution must be agreed upon. Nature maintains a balance of populations through the survival of the fittest. But the human being has become detached from nature, and when overpopulation exceeds all limits and consumes all resources, survival will be the one with the most power.

Hello @hevictor!

I agree there is a great challenge involving overpopulation and we are beginning to see a lot of problems, but also a lot of solutions.

I saw a video a few months ago and it gave me a lot of hope. If you have time I invite you to watch it, it may change your point of view about this threat.

For me it makes a lot of sense because a lot of people are not having kids or just have one or two.

Greetings my friend!

Thanks for recommending the video. Yeah, man, I know there are a lot of solutions. We'll see what the time says, and which solution turns out to be really applicable... ✌
