Blog #38: “Life is easy. Why do we make it so hard?”

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

Recently, I have seen quite a few videos of TED Talk. I’m really impressed with a statement of Jon Jandai - a man living in small village in northeastern Thailand. He talked about “Life is easy. Why do we make it so hard?”. That question and his way of talking make me think a lot.

Life is hard because we make it hard

I think there are two types of people: first one is content with everythings and second one is always want more. Jon Jandai is frist type.
He dont need a convenient apartment which people need to works and save money 30 years to buy. He builds houses himself in his village. He accept things. He works a certain number of hours to get the basic essentials in his life such as raise animal, grow veggi, rice,.. of course by himself. He doesnt want to achieve too much but he is content with everything he has. He feels lighter.
Second type is us. Whatever we have, we want more. We tend to achieve the most, but even we get it, we are still not content. After achieve this one, we set new ones soon after.

Life is easy if we choose it to be.

Life isn’t hard if we dont expect much from it.
We want to have something beyond our ability. We want to do better than our friends. We want to be better looking than we really are.
We spending money that we have not had yet, on things we just like but we don't need, to impress people who we don't like.
We want too much and then we make our life so hard.

Life is made for joy, not for misery, right?

Your logic maybe is right in a normal country.

But when you live in a country where a basic salary is 4$ per month and evething cost 0,5$ ; 1$ , 2$ and soon; your life is obviously HARD.

Sometimes you don't choose if your life is hard sometimes you government made your life hard or other people make your life hard.

I live in a country where is common to see people eating garbage, where is common to hear people saying: "Yesterday someone steal me walking at work or in the bus" , where is common seeing the desesperation and frustation in the peoples face because they don't have something to eat.

We don't choose our hard lifes, we have hard lifes because our gouvernment that is killing us.

PD: I am from Venezuela

ppl cant choose the place they were born. but they can choose where they want to live. That is really sad to hear your story about your country. Hope Steemit will bring good things for u. ^^

For your tags I tink tou are from Vietnam or Thailand? So we are far far away.
And yes I have seen many venezuelans guys beeing gracefuls to steemit for all his help and taking pictures on what they spent his SBDS that normally is on food.D

You think about if we basic salary is 4$ per month and here if you make 1 SBDis 6 or 7$ or even 8$ , you are earning almost the twice salary per a post that a normal person does on 30 and that person can't buy almost anything for all the expensives food that cost 0,5$ ,1 $ and go on.

I am telecommunication engineer and my salary is less than 30$ and in your country how much is 1000$ or more???

It is too sad what we are living here. I invite you to research about Venezuela on Google and know more about my country Venezuela.... You maybe surprise what my government does or have done on the last days.

We have something called Hiper-Inflation

I forgot to say . Thank you for your vote

nice words :D
but in order to enjoy life you have to work hard.
so balance in life is very important

there are a lot of ways to enjoy your life. I saw that video of Jon Jandai, and he made me think he is the one enjoy life the most.

I haven't seen it yet, soon I will
good stuff btw

what does "007" in your name mean? ^^

woooo, its beautiful ,,, regards to know friends ,,, if any time, visit my blog yes

That's what I was thinking as well. We're working hard for everything but about 3000 years ago, people were hunter or farmer. It was easier before. We made it so difficult for everybody. But we still have a chance to live easier, but I don't think much people accept living in a village. I don't accept as well.

yea. we are second type. I just want to be content like Jon Jandai but I cant. :))

Great post i just upvoted check out my new post steemitalltheway

I agree with you life is so beautiful .each and every second of our life, so let's enjoy life while we are here on the beautiful planet.
